Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Research Project Manager.
We have an exciting opening for a Senior Research Project Manager position within the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Emergency Medicines Research Division. In this role, the successful candidate will oversee the research portfolio of Dr. Dowin H. Boatright.
The Senior Research Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all operations of the projects and providing guidance to study personnel. The Senior Research Project Manager will ensure sponsor milestones are met for all projects and will help troubleshoot any issues that arise locally or at participating subcontract organizations. Additionally, this candidate will work with Dr. Boatright and division administrative team in preparing grant applications, manuscripts, and executing institutional research initiatives spearheaded by the Office of Science and Research, as applicable.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Demonstrates knowledge of the organization’s Core Values and incorporates them into the performance of duties.
2. The Senior Research Project Manager will be responsible for the successful execution of all projects in Dr. Dowin Boatright’s portfolio, including overseeing the development, promotion, direction and coordination of the research projects. This includes but is not limited to subject recruitment, performance monitoring, budget, staffing, logistics and other supportive functions for collaborative sites under multiple NIH-funded and foundation-funded projects. The candidate will work autonomously with limited oversight.
3. Provides strategic leadership and technical, operational, financial, and managerial leadership for successful implementation of project across Dr. Boatright’s robust and growing research portfolio, including five NIH-funded R01 projects.
4. Supports the Principal Investigator by providing updates on program management and status of all projects.
5. Oversees and manages the logistics around new site start-up, including negotiating budgets and subcontracts and conducting site visits with members of hospital leadership.
6. Provides guidance to the Senior Research Coordinators and other team members in managing the operations of the project sites, liaisons with the principal investigator and co-investigator across all participating sites.
7. Works with the postdoctoral fellows and administrative teams to prepare and review reports on status of sites. Conceptualizes data reporting products and conveys them to the data team.
8. Meets with the principal investigators and study teams frequently to address issues that arise and provide strategic direction.
9. Works with the study team to prepare and revises training materials, develop curriculum, database management and ensures satisfaction through various measurement tools.
10. Attends and leads meetings and trainings both internally and with external contacts.
11. Oversees the project team in the management, generation, analysis and compiling of study progress reports, financial reports and metrics for a wide audience.
12. Exhibits excellent writing skills to contribute to the drafting of manuscripts for publications and grant materials for funding opportunities.
13. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a 1. Bachelors degree or equivalent in health care administration or related discipline.
2. Minimum of four years progressively responsible related experience coordinating clinical/research trials studies.
3. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as World, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications.
4. Effective verbal and written communication skills, and strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and work and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently.
6. Ability to supervise and manage a team.
7. Commitment to continuous learning as required by department administration.
8. Ability to make decisions independently.
9. Ability to manage time, multi task and prioritize work.
10. Strong understanding and knowledge base of coordination requirements associated with clinical/research trials.
11. Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems; ability to work well under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience overseeing large, multicenter clinical trials.
2. Masters Degree in health care administration or related discipline is preferred.
3. Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) Certification is preferred (required in some disciplines).
4. Knowledge of basic medical terminology is preferred.
5. Experience working in an Academic Medical Center preferred.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $97,589.95 - $112,476.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
