    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Benefits Analyst.

    In this role, the successful candidate is a part of the HR Benefits Strategy Team and reporting to the Manager of Benefit Planning and Resources; performs day to day financial transactions, metrics collection and analysis to support accurate long range forecasting for all benefit plans of NYU Langone Health System.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Maintains vendor table with financial transaction frequency, funding and banking info.
    • Maintains Vendor Payment timetable and payment confirmation support to ensure payments are timely and accurate and that late payment penalties are avoided.
    • Maintains PeopleSoft queries to capture enrolled participants in benefit plans as well as terminating participants where appropriate. Tracks enrollment in all Plans.
    • Prepares wire transfer request for funds, as well as ACH requests depending on payment process. Prepares requests for payment via PeopleSoft Financial System including AP invoice review and processing. Prepares check requests when needed. Prepares invoice documentation and generates PS reports to prepare self billing invoices.
    • Coordinates defined contribution retirement plan remittance process with each payroll and multiple vendors. Reconciles PeopleSoft deduction reporting with vendor files to insure good order processing standards are met. Assists in the development of plan metrics and tracks trends.
    • Assists in the preparation of the annual fringe benefits budget. Reviews all monthly financial reports and supporting detail for accuracy and reasonableness. Validates payments reported to Plans with actuarial costs developed by consultants to confirm accuracy before annual compliance valuation and Open Enrollment processes begin.
    • Prepares Defined Benefit Plan requests for funding and confirms assets reported to actuary.
    • Supports the annual Retiree Medical Account, defined benefit pension plan and defined contribution retirement plan internal and external audits as well as other benefit plan audits that may occur from time to time.
    • Assigns and administers employee refunds/collecting premiums as appropriate.
    • Audits Tuition Benefit payments.
    • Coordinates funding of tuition benefits as well as recovery of overpayments for employees who terminate prior to meeting two year service requirement. Acts as liason with RTR Collections agency.
    • Oversees financial aspects of COBRA and Retiree Billing processes. Audits COBRA eligibility file for missed COBRA notifications and corrections. Oversees correction of DOL COBRA complaints.
    • Prepares Power Point presentations showing changes to costs of programs and changes in enrollment and other cost metrics over time.
    • Prepares monthly financial activity summaries.
    • Acts as liason for benefits with Finance and Payroll as needed. Works with Supply Chain to set up new vendor payment records.
    • Participates in benchmarking surveys as needed.
    • Participates in testing of various system related changes in a test environment.
    • Monitors enrollment in benefit plan by demographic and generational factors to assist in planning.payment records.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify you must have a Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or HR related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
    Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a position with financial, analytic or billing related functions is required.
    Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have strong computer and math skills and be proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PPT, and MS Outlook. Familiar with spreadsheet management and preparation in Excel. Strong organizational skills. Must be flexible and adaptable to meet changing needs and priorities. Must be able to work independently and prioritize work. Must be results focused and able to meet deadlines. Must have a strong level of team orientation. Excellent analytical skills and skilled at maintaining quality and accuracy. Able to work across departments internally at NYU Langone and with external vendors. Must be customer focused with ability to quickly resolve internal and external customer needs/requests. Must have solid ethical principles. Must actively pursue opportunities to maintain the financial competitiveness and integrity of the benefit programs.

    Some knowledge of employee benefits and /or Human Resources preferred

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $63,935 - $78,000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
