    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Project Associate - IVF.

    In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing a broad range of support on laboratory operations for scheduling and associated support functions. Responsible for providing moderate data analysis regarding patient volume. Uses judgment and discretion to troubleshoot requests and patient instruction. Supports all areas of the andrology lab and may interact and support other fertility center labs. Works under general supervision.

    Job Responsibilities:

      1. Responsible for scheduling appointments for the andrology laboratory for patients of the practice that require a diagnostic semen analysis, sperm cryopreservation or sperm wash for intrauterine insemination. Provides patients with verbal instructions as well as an portal/email confirmation.
    
      2. Responsible for verifying the patient’s insurance and providing co-pay or out-of-pocket responsibility. 
    
      3. Assigns consents and releases through EngagedMD for upcoming appointment. Reviews and signs off on completed forms. Follows up verifies completeness prior to appointment.
    
      4. Provides patients with alternate laboratories and necessary referrals.
    
      5. Create and maintain patient Epic information and or FERT according to established protocol. Complete all demographic information for all patients. Review patient FERT record to verify that the appropriate appointment was scheduled. 
    
      6. Coordinate scheduling of sperm cryopreservation appointments with patient coordinators and nursing staff for patients that require FDA donor screening.
    
      7. Coordinate scheduling of semen analysis appointments on same day as appointment with NYULH Urologist. 
    
      8. Assist with IUI appointment scheduling- assist IUI nursing team as requested. 
    
      9. Perform message retrieval and response through call center and overnight answering service, review and analyze information to ensure emergencies and priorities are appropriately handled. Respond to all calls. 
    
      10. Maintain daily communication with andrology laboratory staff regarding calendar and adjust available appointment slots as necessary.
    
      11. Assist andrology/program staff with scanning and data entry.
    
      12. Greet patients arriving for onsite collection/specimen drop-off. Ensure containers properly labeled and collection record is completed and legible. 
    
      13. Assist lab with frozen sperm transports by fielding calls / emails from patients who need to transport their samples to NYUFC or from NYUFC to other facilities; obtain and prepare documents needed for the transport; physically carry shippers to and from service corridor / lab
    
      14. Assist with making birth outcome calls
    
      15. Assemble semen collection kits and keep on hand enough for front desk, nursing and satellite office staff
    
      16. provide cross-coverage for the andrology lab assistant during vacations, medical leaves or extended illnesses.
    
      17. Additional tasks as assigned- coverage of staff during times of vacations/illnesses/medical leaves.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify you must have an Associate's Degree is required. Minimum of 1 Year of related experience in an office setting or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Effective Oral, written communication and interpersonal skills. Computer Skills - Working knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Power point and Access. Ability to develop basic formulae for spreadsheets; set up routine computer procedures; Ability to access e-mail, electronic calendars, and other basic office support software. Ability to proofread documents and write clear, concise 1st draft. Ability to type at a speed of at least 45 net words per minutes.Knowledge of standard office practices. Ability to multi-task while paying attention to details. Ability to use standard office equipment such as copy machines, multi-line telephones, fax machines.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Associate's degree in a related field with 1 year of related experience in an office setting is preferred- education requirement may be substituted for appropriate successful experience.

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $45,600.00 - $47,424.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
