    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Engineer.

    The Research Engineer is responsible for managing Research Strategic Initiatives within the Department of Radiology and assuring current knowledge of strategic research goals and objectives pertaining to radiology imaging. Facilitates the development of interdisciplinary research teams for the purpose of leveraging resources for new programs/projects. Acts as a project leader to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems. Develops and administers budgets, schedules, and performance requirements. Frequently interacts with other departmental units and facilitates the program activities with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods, and employees. Serves as an advisor to faculty and lab staff to meet schedules and or resolve technical problems. Insure Standard Operating Procedures and protocols are developed and maintained

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Oversees the development of strategic initiative/programmatic marketing materials to assure accuracy and compliance with oversight guidelines.
    • Assists with the recruitment of faculty and staff, including coordinating the logistics of visiting recruits, planning itineraries, scheduling seminars, and facilitating reimbursements. Facilitates VIP visits, e.g., important collaborators, potential donors, and other distinguished guests.
    • Assures compliance with regulatory mandates of all appropriate/applicable governing bodies. Communicates new policies and procedures and regulatory changes impacting the department to all staff as appropriate.
    • Provides in-depth, high level guidance ensuring that research protocols incorporate the appropriate elements.
    • Synchronizes with the research coordinator team and serves as the liaison with principal investigators in the department on strategic initiatives. Conducts reviews for new research protocols, including a thorough analysis of the research protocol submission to determine the presence of all required elements consistent with NYU SOM policy and procedures, federal regulations and good clinical practice guidelines.
    • Organizes the preparation of major grant proposals for large-scale, interdisciplinary research programs involving multiple departments or institutions to support new research units, programs or centers.
    • Develops communications plans to market the research to both patients and other NYUMC departments to solicit participation in research studies. Follows up on plans with NYUMC departments to establish study subject recruitment pathways.
    • Meets on a regular basis with Radiology Research leadership to review program/project progress and plans for new/additional strategic research initiatives. Provides recommendations to Vice-Chairman for Research and Divisional Administrator and relay review decision to Principal Investigators.
    • Creates, interprets and communicates management reports to inform research leadership of project statuses, as well as provide the necessary controls and timely completion for projects. Develops performance dashboards to communicate project implantation milestones as well as data generated from new project/program operations.
    • Facilitates, develops and leads interdisciplinary research efforts and multi-user facilities. Collaborates as part of a cross-functional team to manage conflict and openly address challenges. Wherever possible, collaboratively develops mechanisms to alleviate barriers to interdisciplinary research imposed by systemic issues.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify you must have a Master's degree.

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $73,770.80 - $85,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
