    Position Summary:

    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Coordinator - Psychiatry-Addictive Disorders.

    In this role, the successful candidate will provide advanced coordination activities for two research studies, support field staff and community partners, assist with participant recruitment and retention, coordinate schedules and various aspects of data collection, including biological specimens, survey implementation, and qualitative interviews.

    Interface with participants, create and manage databases in REDCap, grant and manuscript development and dissemination of study findings, including presentations.

    Ensure the accurate execution of research protocols in accordance with Good Clinical Practices, HIPAA, and required obligations to participants, Principal Investigator, research team and sponsor. Establish liaisons with internal departments and consortium partners.

    Job Responsibilities:

    Project Development and Implementation - Assist with developing project tools, source documents, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize efficiency and data quality. Coordinate and facilitate community engagement activities to ensure materials and information are appropriate and current. Collaborate with project consortium partners.

    Recruitment and Data Collection – Coordinate with field staff and assist with participant recruitment. Create informational materials for participants such as newsletters, videos, graphics, and other digital materials. Schedule data collection appointments, arrange for shipment of data collection kits to and from participants and assist participants in data self-collection procedures. Conduct study activities utilizing REDCap data platform; administer electronic survey and obtain informed consent. Receive training in the proper handling of biological specimens. Arrange for specimen shipments from participants; receive and store specimens and assist in shipping specimens to designated labs for testing and processing. Conduct qualitative interviews. Assist with development of website content and maintenance.

    Human Subjects’ Research, Compliance, and Study Regulations – Submit necessary documents required by the NYU Institutional Board (IRB), NYU Office of Clinical Trials and any other appropriate parties in order to obtain approval to conduct human subjects’ research. Maintain IRB protocols and amendments; maintain regulatory documents. Prepare and submit monthly enrollment statistics to the Office of Clinical Trials and provide other information in timely manner as necessary. Assist with the informed consent process and ensure that study participants fully understand what is required of them throughout the study. Follow through regularly with participants reminding them of visits and compliance. May monitor any issues regarding participant safety, adverse events, or protocol deviations and report these to the Principal Investigator.

    Data Management, Reporting and Analysis – Update and maintain databases and study records. Track and log all study activities. Conduct quality control data checks and preliminary analysis. Assist with qualitative data analysis. Retrieve data, generate reports, compile and analyze data and statistics. Provide study reports to the Principal Investigators.

    Budget – Process and send participant incentives; order supplies, submit travel vouchers, conference registrations, and reimbursements. Work with institutional departments and systems as necessary in the operation of the study (e.g., Purchasing, Accounting, Finance, IT, Administration, etc.). Monitor budget and spending; assist with budgeting and preparation of reports to institution and funding agency. Assist in preparing grant applications progress reports.

    Decision Making and Problem Solving – Keep study investigators apprised of successes and challenges and identify/implement innovative methods to solve challenges in the field. Evaluate information and data to make decisions about relative importance of information and choose best solutions to solve problems. Resolve complex situations and refer issues and questions with recommendation to supervisor.

    Continuous Learning – Complete ongoing compliance trainings and research training relevant to the position.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, statistics or other allied health science field
    required.

    Minimum of two years of progressively responsible project coordination experience, preferably in a research setting.

    Proficiency using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
    and Outlook.

    Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

    Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

    Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and must work and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.

    Ability to work and make decisions independently as well as within a diverse team environment.

    Time management skills and ability to multitask and work well under pressure.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Masters degree in public health, psychology, sociology, statistics, or other allied
    health science field preferred Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) Certification is preferred (required in some disciplines).
    Knowledge of basic medical terminology is preferred.
    Experience working in an Academic Medical Center preferred
    Experience in applied quantitative or qualitative research with skills in statistical software (e.g.,
    SAS, SPSS, R, ATLASti, etc.) preferred. Familiar with internet applications and digital communication platforms (e.g.,
    website content management systems, videoconferencing, social media, digital analytics, enewsletters) and the ability to learn new software programs quickly.
    Expert knowledge of REDCap data platform preferred.
    Strong interest in advancing health equity and social justice preferred

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,500 - $58,500 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
