    Red Cedar Surgery Center is looking for a MATERIALS MANAGER to join our team!

    The Materials Manager is responsible for all departmental functions in support of the hospital mission, vision and facility goals. Assists in identifying the cost-effective systems needed to support the business of the department taking into account business trends, resource availability and changes in customers. This position assists in establishing effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees, and vendors. The Materials Management responsible for the procurement for all supplies in the hospital with the exception of food and drugs. The responsibility of the position includes ordering and receiving of supplies, stocking supplies and assisting Accounts Payable with invoice packets. We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic person. This person must be active as 90% of this position is physical activity.

    Required Skills

    Position Requirements:

    • HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE OR EQUIVALENT REQUIRED
    • TWO YEARS MINIMUM RECEIVING AND INVENTORY EXPERIENCE IN A HEALTH CARE ENVIRONMENT PREFERRED.
    • Strong Customer Service Background
    • Strong math and counting skills required
    • Type minimum of 40 wpm preferred
    • Computer experience required (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word and Excel preferred)
    • Able to deal tactfully with public and other staff members
    • Must possess the ability to prioritize responsibilities and handle multiple projects simultaneously
    • Ability to deal with repetitive task
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
    • Ability to stand, bend, twist, squat and lift heavy items above your head and shoulders
    • Ability to work in a clean and sterile environment

    Duties

    Orders and maintains all medical inventories.

    Assists in performing Semi- Annual Inventory accounting.

    When supplies arrive at the facility, checks in all supplies per proof of delivery and purchase order, delivers all supplies to appropriate location, accounts for all back orders.

    Knows and adheres to policies of the Center, and demonstrates fiscal responsibility.

    Listens actively to promote harmonious and cooperative working environment.

    Consistently communicates verbally and nonverbally in a manner that demonstrates a positive and cooperative attitude.

    Functions as a team member or leader, exhibiting fairness, courtesy, trust, respect and willingness to balance personal needs with group needs, taking initiative to help others when needed.

    Identifies and makes recommendations for hospital processes to improve in service effectiveness and efficiency.

    Assist in maintaining accurate Tissues Implant logs.

    Informs OR Manager of applicable day-to-day situations.

    Remains calm and functions as a team member during times of stress and crisis situations.

     

    USPI complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce.
