    POSITION SUMMARY: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Student Research Intern.

     The Section for Health Equity at NYU School of Medicines Department of Population Health is looking to hire a student research intern. The research intern will work on an initiative focused on improving food access and nutrition in the New York City immigrant community, and on workforce development. This initiative involves integration within a multidisciplinary team of partners in community-based research, community service, nutrition, epidemiology, and public health across multiple partnering institutions.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Project knowledge – Demonstrate thorough knowledge of our research studies, study rationale(s), and process(es) of the study.
    2. Recruitment and outreach – Work with community partners to outreach and recruit for research studies.
    3. Survey translation and administration – Assist with survey translation, outreach, and conducting survey assessments.
    4. Community engagement – Provide logistical information about program and obtain feedback from community members, translating as necessary.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify you must have a Applicants must be enrolled in a degree program. Background and/or coursework in epidemiology, public health or related research. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently. Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as World, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook. Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills. Fluency in simplified and/or traditional Chinese, (ability to read, write, and speak).

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $15.00 - $44.59 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
