    POSITION SUMMARY: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Manager-Real Estate Transcations (RED+F Dept). In this role, the successful candidate Position Summary: Leasing & Acquisitions: The Real Estate Manager will play a role in all aspects of the development and implementation of solutions to the Medical Center's space needs. As the Medical Center is consistently evaluating and analyzing its space requirements and real estate opportunities, this position provides an unmatched opportunity for a talented person to contribute and learn. Primary responsibilities include:

     

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Managing the existing database.
    • Manage the leasing and acquisition of real property interests requisite to support the needs of the Medical Center for administrative, clinical, and research space.
    • Negotiate contracts of sale, leases, licenses, easements, and other instruments in support of the above requirements.
    • Work with various individuals and divisions supporting Real Estate in the acquisition of space, including legal, risk management, facilities management, planning and design, construction, and environmental services.
    • Assist in the management of the Real Estate portfolio, including acting as a liaison in resolving lease disputes and other tenant related matters on behalf of the division and the various occupants of space within the Medical Center.
    • Supporting the entire Real Estate division, up to and including the vice president, in the management of the real estate portfolio, including parking and retail initiatives, which support might include: 'preparation and analysis of property budgets;'monitoring budget performance;'analysis of potential acquisition and lease opportunities;'preparation and tracking of internal approval documents to the Medical Center administration, board committees, and/or trustees;'planning and development of property-related capital projects; and preparation of other budget documents, spreadsheets, or forecasts related to the management of the portfolio.
    • Analyzing the current and future space needs of the Medical Center and tracking market availabilities.
    • Preparing budgets of projected development and occupancy costs regarding proposed transactions.
    • Preparing documents and presentations for internal reviews and approvals as well as board and trustee-level approvals.
    • Monitoring and resolving lease enforcement issues.
    • Reviewing invoices and confirming lease payments.
    • Developing/maintaining contacts with landlords and vendors.
    • Maintaining lease abstracts and leased space inventory.

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify you must have a Minimum Qualifications: Ideal Experience/Background: Bachelor's degree is required, and relevant, full-time real estate transaction-oriented experience is a must. Advanced degree or relevant coursework is highly desirable. Superior negotiating, organization, and project management skills are essential. Strong communication, quantitative and interpersonal skills, and facility with computer database management and spreadsheet software are strongly desirable.Key Competencies: 'Creativity ' the ability to analyze real estate opportunities that meet institutional space needs in ways that conform to the constraints imposed by the programmatic requirements of a diverse and accomplished group of users as well as by the limited financial resources available to an educational non-profit;'Independence ' the desire and capacity to function independently, assuming ownership and responsibility for projects and the ability to follow-through on assignments without regular supervision or reminders; 'Proficiency with Analytics and Financial Concepts ' the ability to create user-friendly financial models and analyses to be presented to a diverse group of users; and 'Discipline ' the maturity and composure to operate as a professional within a demanding environment.
