    POSITION SUMMARY: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Human Resource Manager - Woodhull. In this role, the successful candidate will provide Human Resources management support to NYU Grossman School of Medicine (NYUGSOM) employees at the Woodhull and Coler/Carter Affiliates. Will serve as a functional expert for employee relations, recruitment, labor relations and other related functions and initiatives. Provides education and interpretation of HR policies, practices and procedures to our clinical leadership and our employees. Works under the general direction of NYU Langone Affiliate Administrator in collaboration with the Affiliate HR Director, NYUSOM HR Staff and Health+Hospital Corporation HR staff.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Implements employee exit interview process.
    • Processes all employee terminations including all appropriate termination forms and employee departmental checklists. Termination notifications to all facility departments (Finance, Telecommunications, Medical Staff Office, Hospital Police, Medical Records, etc.) distributed within 24 hours of employees last day worked with confirmed receipt.
    • Works in conjunction with Chiefs of Service and NYU Langone Compensation staff to address compensation issues that may arise.
    • Reviews, interprets and advises managers of HR and organizational policies and labor contracts as applied to individual situations.
    • Represents organization in labor relation activities. Collaborates with collective bargaining units regarding employee grievances, local negotiations, contract amendments, and other related issues.
    • Works in conjunction with departmental secretaries on behalf of affiliate office to maintain up to date tracking spreadsheet and provide expiration notices 1-3 months in advance of date to all employees who are due for licensure renewal or mandatories. Responsible for all up to date employee requirements to operate at the facility.
    • Manages and directs affiliate office staff who track and update employee personnel files including licensure, annual health assessment, mandatory in-service, compliance courses, GME studies, performance appraisals, and reappointments to meet NYU/HHC policy and regulatory requirements. HR manager will be responsible for the staff evaluations and meeting the requirements of the functions above.
    • Facilitates employee recruitment including preparation and placement of ads, tracking and forwarding appropriate responses to the NYU administrator and/or Chiefs of Service. Assists in initial hiring processes, background checks, and verification of documents. Responsible for all new employee email access, EMR training/access, enrollment and completion of mandatory in-service, and compliance courses.
    • Manages and coordinates general office operations and procedures to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
    • Directs, plans and coordinates the human resource management activities of the affiliate, including employee benefits, recruitment, personnel policies and procedures, and regulatory compliance. Liaison between employee and NYU HR for problem resolution.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business/Human Resource Management or Public Administration.
    • 2+ years of HR experience in a unionized organization.

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $61,475.67 - $102,459.45 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
