  • Responsibilities

    The Manager of Regulatory Operations (MRO) establishes effective working relationships with all constituents including patients, physicians, and associates. The MRO directs and coordinates all department activities to assure continuous monitoring of hospital-wide Performance Improvement. The MRO manages Quality, Infection Control, Employee Health, Peer Review (to include OPPE and FPPE); and leadership support of the hospital Credentialing Coordinator. The MRO works with The Manager of Clinical Operations to ensure all regulatory processes are in place and monitored. The MRO ensures the highest quality and safest delivery of patient care, and maintains compliance with professional nursing, Joint Commission, and all Federal and State standards of care. The MRO is also the designated Regulatory Officer for the facility.

    The position will supervise the Medical Staff Services Credentialing Coordinator. Will interact with Physicians, all hospital staff, patients, and families.
    Competencies and responsibilities associated with each position are a combination of hospital-wide and department-specific standards.

    Required Skills

    •Current license as a Registered Nurse in Arizona.
    •Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
    •BSN required.
    •CPHQ and CIC preferred
    •1 - 3 years’ experience in Quality Management.
    •Relevant clinical experience of at least 5 years and previous management experience preferred.
    •Knowledge of hospital organizations, committees, department functions, and Performance Improvement activities.
    •Ability to influence others through effective communication and focus on building relationships.
    •Working knowledge of Joint Commission, Medicare, and State regulatory standards.
    •Basic computer knowledge including: PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
    •Possesses the ability to make independent decisions, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

    Required Experience

    The department-specific standards include the competencies appropriate to the ages of the customers served. The employee’s competencies are evaluated on an ongoing basis, and formally documented at least annually as part of the Performance Appraisal process.
