    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Clerk.

    In this role, the successful candidate will provide administrative support and assist supervisor and professional staff in departmental office support.

    Job Responsibilities:

    * Responsible for greeting patients and visitors.
    * Responsible for accurately filing slides, archive requests, and report send outs.
    * Responsible for pulling slides for conferences such as quality assurance, previous case review.
    * Ensures accurate and timely collection and input of data. Types and transcribes materials accurately and promptly. Proofreads, edits and properly organizes typewritten material. Prepares content which is clear and grammatically correct.
    * Patient Material Management: Timely and accurate slide filing in all areas.
    * Responsible for Archives request facilitation, including requesting patient material and sending patient material back to archives.
    * Makes accurate and timely notes regarding incoming and outgoing of all materials in the Tamtron or other designated database.
    * Non-Patient Material Tracking: Triage incoming and outgoing mail and all packages and distributes to appropriate individuals. Signing for packages delivered to the department.
    * Processing electronic mailing and dropping off of mail to be sent out (ex. UPS).Dropping off or picking up urgent packages.
    * Telephone/Front Desk: Uses telephone etiquette that complies with NYULMC service standards.
    * Appropriately routes/triages phone calls. Welcomes guests/patients into the department. Responds promptly and appropriately to the needs and requests of staff, patients and public.
    * Decision Making:Seeks information necessary for accurate completion of job responsibilities. Recognizes problems and seeks solutions as indicated.
    * Conveys information correctly and accurately. Effectively prioritizes all assigned tasks.
    * Office Support: Uses office resources wisely and keeps supplies in order. Unpacks suppliesand notifies supervisor if additional supplies are needed
    * Initiative andresponsibility:Volunteers assistanceto others. Acceptsadditionalresponsibilities asassigned bysupervisor. Makessuggestions toimprove performancein area. Takesinitiative to identifyand complete routinetasks. Attendsmeetings as required.
    * Performs other duties as assigned.
    

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High School diploma
    • Ability to type 45 wpm
    • Good communication skills.
    • Proficient use of computer systems.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    BA degree with 1-3 years of office experience; knowledge of medical terminology.

    Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $46,903.34 - $46,903.34 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
