    POSITION SUMMARY: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a OT Hand Fellow. In this role, the successful candidate will be a part of the NYU Langone Health Hand Therapy Fellowship program which is a 12-month program that provides the fellow with an intensive and individualized experience in a defined area of clinical practice within the profession of occupational therapy. The goal of the fellowship is to produce world-class clinicians aligned with Rusks vision to be a global leader in physical medicine and rehabilitation creating a world of limitless accessibility. As an integral member of the Rusk Rehabilitation clinical team, the fellow will provide direct and mentored patient care as assigned by the unit supervisor. Upon completion of the fellowship, the fellow will have gained the knowledge and experience to be a competent advanced practitioner, and be qualified to sit for the Certified Hand Therapy Examination. This program follows the guidelines and accreditation standards of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Conducts initial evaluation of occupational therapy needs for specifically assigned patient population.
    • Implements treatment plans and protocols according to current professional and health system standards.
    • Completes all documentation required for patient care and reimbursement.
    • Responsible for a level of patient care productivity as indicated by individual unit procedures.
    • Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates appropriate professionalism during job performance
    • Adheres to all department procedures and policies.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of the organizations core values and incorporates them into the performance of duties
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy. Licensure in the State of New York. Applicants must have at least one year of work experience. Good communication and interpersonal skills. REQUIRED LICENSES: Occupational Therapist License-NYS

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master of Occupational Therapy or advanced degree and/or certification(s). Clinical experience in hand therapy is beneficial but not required. Demonstrates leadership qualities
