Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Manager, Institutional Communications Specialist (Office of the CEO & School of Medicine).
In this role, the successful candidate is an exceptional and strategic-minded Institutional Communications Specialist (Manager). This position will support Institutional Communications by crafting meaningful communications on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer of NYULH and the Dean of the NYU Grossman School of Medicine (SOM) to promote NYULHs reputation and industry-leading vision for patient care, increase employee engagement, and deepen relationships with the institution.
Reporting to the Director of Institutional Communications, the Institutional Communications Specialist will collaborate with key leadership including the Office of the CEO and the School of Medicine. This role will have the unique opportunity to work closely with the Dean of the SOM to promote NYULHs vision, strategy, and brand.
Job Responsibilities:
Thought Leadership:
* Act as primary point of contact with the NYULH CEO and Dean of the SOM to support them in clearly articulating their evolving philosophy, vision, and strategic priorities for the institution
* Support development of a proactive approach to thought leadership to share the Office of the CEO’s and SOM’s impactful work in alignment with the institutional strategy
* Execute on a thought leadership strategy that highlights NYULH’s expansion and innovation efforts across various mediums such as social media and public speaking opportunities
* Collaborate with physicians and researchers to frame content that evokes inspiration, captivates stakeholders, and increases brand reputation by sharing the Office of the CEO’s and SOM’s trailblazing endeavors
Leadership and Institutional Communications:
* Develop publications, special reports, video messages, and speeches with a compelling, consistent voice reflective of the vision of the CEO and SOM that expand NYULH’s reputation
* Support communications relationships with the Office of the CEO and the SOM to create, design, and execute valuable content that can be shared with a variety of stakeholders
* Determine and implement audience-specific channel and engagement strategies to optimize communications that inform and inspire internal and external audiences
* Maintain and adhere to standardized processes to ensure excellence in all communications
* Incorporate lessons learned from previous communications campaigns to ensure quality is aligned to established standards
Collaboration:
* Support planning and execution of institution-wide communications in coordination with the Office of the CEO and the School of Medicine
* Partner with the Institutional Communications Lead by discerning priorities and communication requests while proactively identifying new ways for communications to drive institutional objectives
* Partner with the Communications Strategy lead – Publications & Special Reports Associate Director on all publications and special reports to ensure they adhere to any specific standards or processes while remaining reflective of the voice of the Office of the CEO and SOM
* Collaborate across the Communications & Marketing (C&M) department to develop and deliver video messages from the Office of the CEO and SOM and ensure communications are executed in parallel and inclusive of nuances as appropriate
Operational Excellence:
* Ensure seamless communication alignment within a complex institution encompassing multiple campuses and geographic regions
* Champion NYULH’s strong continuous improvement culture
* Efficiently and effectively execute goals and priorities while adhering to organizational standards for delivering excellent work.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a 5+ years of experience working in an institutional communications function in a highly regulated industry, specifically an institutional or academic medical center setting
Accomplished writer, editor, and communicator; experience partnering with leadership to influence both individuals and outcomes
Creative and visionary thinker with the ability to juggle multiple projects and drive results
Experience creating and managing thought leadership content
Adept at building rapport and exhibiting strong interpersonal skills, with an established track record of cultivating relationships with leadership
Possesses a growth mindset and a bias towards a test and learn approach
Bachelors degree in journalism, communications, or related field required
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $76,721.84 - $127,869.56 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
