Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Assistant Director-Laboratory - IVF.
Job Responsibilities:
* Manages laboratory staff (endocrinology, andrology and embryology) relative to all special projects and daily operations relative to database functionality. Reviews productivity and efficiency levels of staff and provides decision making ability on hires, performance evaluations and terminations.
* Available to assist Laboratory Director for all laboratory inspections by professional and governmental organizations should the Laboratory Director be unavailable. Involved in maintaining adequate records of licensures, maintenance records, policies and procedures, internal review board proposals, periodic reviews, and related issues as can be expected during such inspections. Determines avenues for grants and support from industry for research in association with other scientists, in coordination with physician staff and Laboratory Director. Performs independent research when necessary and supervise and work with Laboratory director and Program Director to approve all laboratory-related material ready for peer review publication.
* Review all relevant scientific literature to extend current and general knowledge of IVF; reviews scientific literature regarding genetic and reproductive molecular biology issues. Attend relevant conferences and meetings, subject to budgetary approval by the Medical Director.
* Work closely with compliance manager, research staff, physicians and laboratory director to prepare IRB required documents and to ensure all studies conducted are in compliance with IRB.
* Work closely with fellows and medical students to perform statistical data: act as mentor to fellows and medical students
* Acts as data manager and analyzer for Laborator Director to ensure maintenance and monitoring of ad hoc quality control and assurance programs as it relates to the laboratory(ies) functions and outcomes. Assists laboratory director in compiling the data reported and discussed in end of series reviews ( 3 times per year).
* Assist Laboratory Director and laboratory Supervisors in the development and implementation of policies and procedures relative to all clinical, research and security activities performed in the laboratories under the Directors management to ensure compliance with pertinent government and professional regulations, and to provide oversight in revising current operating procedures for all laboratories relative to clinical technology and IT advances.
* In conjunction with Redshift Technologies work to develop Fert database such that it may interface directly with SART/CDC, and other laboratories ( eg. Recombine, Quest, ) in a HIPAA compliant manner to maximize data entry efficiency and increase accuracy.
* Work with laboratory director to supervise the design, implementation, and maintenance of Clinical and laboratory databases, data queries, and research data evaluation.
* Direct liason between departments at NYULMC FC ( laboratories, billing, admin, nursing) and Redshift Technologies and other software developers, to ensure accurate and timely data entry and to identify and resolve issues related with same.
* Ensure timely reporting of data to all reporting bodies including SART/CDC and NYS/TBAR with assistance from laboratory director and appropriate support staff.
* Develop, implement and maintain an accurate database for the documentation evaluation and communication of all cycle outcomes with physicians and SART/CDC regarding cycle starts, cancellations, completions and birth outcomes. Identify issues with data collection or reporting, remediate conflicts and communicate with the Laboratory Director and Medical Director on all changes associated with above.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Minimum Qualifications:Ph.D in Reproductive Sciences, Molecular biology or related field. Certification- High Complexity Laboratory Director (HCLD) Member in good standing of American Society for Reproductive Medicine and /or European Scociety of Human Reproduction > 7 years experience in a relevant discipline associate with embryology, preferably in a clinical environment of >1200 cycles of IVF, EF and DESuccessful completion of all training and orientation programs including HIPAA and risk management.Demonstrates understanding of all clinical activities and personnel management in laboratory(ies).Knowledge of healthcare administration, government regulations/SART CDC requirements, human research study regulation (IRB), human resource management, operating policies and procedures including supervision and operation of equipment..

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $88,524.96 - $92,500.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
