Spvr-Psychology - LOH
The Medical Assistant (MA) will work under supervision with oversight from a registered nurse. Additional responsibilities as designated by the Director of Nursing and Administrator.
Performs Front and back-office duties.
- Assists medical providers-and maintains a clean and safe environment in accordance with the practice policies and procedure. Great communicator able to deal tactfully and professionally with patients, families, staff, and physicians. - Operates telephone system including receiving incoming calls, taking messages, identify nature of business and call.
- Performs clerical duties including distribution of mail and messages, monitoring office supplies, and maintaining postage meter.
- Assist with chart preparation and scanning.
- Assist with Admissions.
- Check in pre-op patients.
- Copy identification and insurance.
- Communication with Pre-Op nursing staff.
- Provide relief to Admitting, Office Assistant, and Scheduling as required.

- High school diploma or equivalent. One to three months of related experience and/or training. Or Equivalent combination of education and experience. Communication skills: ability to effectively present information to patients, physicians, and other employees of surgery center. Basic math skills.

Required Experience
Required Experience:
Education: High School diploma.
Experience: Minimum one year experience in a Peri-operative setting
- Medical office experience, front and back office. Knowledgeable regarding prescription medications and medical back-office procedures
Other: BLS required
