    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Financial Analyst.

    In this role, the successful candidate will assist in providing oversight for all financial aspects of the Department of Population Health. Assists with providing financial updates (budget vs. actual) for assigned divisions (grants, contracts, clinical trials, discretionary accounts). Assists in financial analysis and expense management for department. Provides reliable, responsive accounting and guidance to assist department with financial management of portfolio.

    Job Responsibilities:

    1. Works with the departmental administrative team to monitor all grant budgets and troubleshoots problems identified from reports (e.g. incorrectly allocated personnel and non-personnel expenses, etc).
    2. Responsible for the preparation of grant financial reports for internal review and analysis.
    3. Submits cost transfers and salary allocations as needed
    4. Monitors personnel allocations across all accounts (sponsored & non-sponsored)
    5. Monitors faculty sponsored research effort to ensure compliance with institutional and sponsor guidelines
    6. Recommend and implement changes to ensure balanced accounts. When necessary, resolve funding overages and excessive fund balances
    7. Complete grant closeouts in partnership with departmental administrative team
    8. Monitors institutional faculty effort requirements (AEC) and participates in annual certification process
    9. Review/approve all grant financial transactions for assigned portfolio to ensure financial compliance with institutional and sponsor guidelines
    10. Perform regular review of departmental suspense and holding accounts
    11. Lead meetings with faculty to review financial status of accounts 
    12. Liaise with central offices (Finance, HR, OSR, etc) on behalf of department
    13. Ad-hoc tasks as required by department
    

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related discipline, preferably with experience and interest in the Health, Academic, Non-profit field.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    1. Experience with management of NIH grants
    2. Understanding of financial reporting requirements and regulations.
    3. Familiarity with Accounts Payable/Receivable processes
    4. Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite, including expertise in Excel.
    5. Must be able to use internal financial and accounting systems proficiently.

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,500.00 - $76,076.62 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
