    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Research Project Manager. NYU Langone Health is the Clinical Science Center (CSC) for a major NIH grant to study Post-Acute Sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 Infection (PASC) or Long COVID. This 4 year initiative aims to answer key research questions needed to advance the scientific communitys understanding of Long COVID and discover effective therapeutics to address it. The (Senior Research Project Manager) position is part of the Clinical Science Core (CSC) whose purpose is to coordinate the development and implementation of master protocols; to provide expertise in clinical protocol design, implementation; and execution of large clinical research studies for the PASC grant. This is an interdepartmental effort that spans the Office of Science and Research, Department of Medicine, Department of Population Health and Medical Center IT. The Senior Research Project Manager is responsible for providing a broad range of complex program management in conjunction with the MPIs (Multiple Principal Investigators) and Program Director in all aspects of the PASC NIH-funded program. The Senior Research Project Manager will lead the implementation of a newly funded project in one or more areas, such as: Protocol Development/Implementation, Site Training/Monitoring or other areas of the project. This position reports to the Program Director and MPIs. The Senior Research Project Manager will be responsible for the development, promotion, direction and coordination of their assigned areas, including research design, budget, staffing, strategy, logistics and other supportive functions to ensure deliverables are met on time and are of high quality. The position facilitates and has overall responsibility for the administration of assigned areas (staff on boarding process, following up with study sites, assisting in the submission of IRB/EC/national regulatory documents, developing budgets, scheduling meetings, planning, organizing and coordinating events, training others etc.) and works autonomously with limited oversight.

     

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    •         Recruits, hires, trains and supervises staff, and ensures all policies and procedures are being adhered to and implemented. Responsible for completing annual performance reviews through FOCUS
    •         Reviews risks and KPIs established for sites (i.e., enrollment, recruitment, retention, and data collection) to ensure performance level of all sites and mitigate risks and loss as needed
    •         Manages and oversees the trial start up activities including development/revision of the final protocol, template informed consent for site use, study manual of operations, CRF guidelines and study training materials
    •         Oversees and manages the logistics around a new site start-up, including activities such as finalizing customized informed consents, finalizing and submitting IRB submissions and respond to queries, reviewing site regulatory documents, negotiating budget terms etc.
    •         Assists in the development of strategic planning to ensure proper business development activities, with the MPI and Program Director
    •         Prepares reports on status of sites. Follows up and resolves issues as it relates to processing of site contracts
    •         Oversees and leads the site/country/regional regulatory submissions and updates through life of project, as relevant
    •         Prepares and issues reports within established procedures. Analyzes findings of central review and monitors site source documents, and presents recommendations. Prepares and reviews documents independently and generates status/progress reports, collaborating with data management and sites to resolve site issues
    •         Oversees and coordinates all site study close-out activities, as relevant
    •         Acts as the primary liaison and resource to assigned sites for protocol related questions and GCP related matters
    •         Coordinates and oversees activities of sites from site initiation to closeout, and monitoring for risks as needed
    •         Develops study SOPs and documents best practices
    •         Develops, prepares and revises training materials, develops curriculum, database management and ensures satisfaction through various measurement tools
    •         Attends and leads training meetings/webinars and team meetings, as required
    •         Responsible for the management, generation, analysis and compilation of study progress reports, financial reports and metrics for a wide audience, both internal and external
    •         Other duties as assigned

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    This position requires a self-starter who has familiarity with applicable regulations and has experience in US site management. Limited travel (~5%). BA/BS degree required with at least 5 years of relevant progressively responsible experience,. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel. Effective verbal and written communication skills.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    MS, MPH or MBA in related field.
