    POSITION SUMMARY: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Student Intern. In this role, the successful candidate Position Summary:Provides advanced level of support on Macintosh, Windows and related hardware and software for the NYU Langone Medical Center Research staff. Responsible for resolving all hardware and software problems related to service requests

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Performs other duties as assigned or requested. Works under supervision.
    • Provides phone, on-site and remote assistance to users: identifying/resolving problems. Troubleshoots desktop computer system problems (hardware/software).
    • Performs maintenance on desktop computers to maintain peak performance and ensure machines remain free from viruses and malware.
    • Installs hardware/software upgrades: operating system, memory upgrades and software applications. Recommends hardware/software configurations as appropriate.
    • Takes into consideration the department's goals when reviewing PC development needs.
    • Develops solutions or arranges for outside service when required. Create/maintain documentation of problem solutions for the Front Range knowledgebase.
    • Monitors assigned queue in Front Range ticketing system. Logs work performed on incidents into journal entries in Front Range, and closes tickets within established service levels.
    • Responsible for the implementation, installation, maintenance and support of End User Infrastructure Support equipment, software and connectivity for PDA's, PCs - Macintosh, PC/Workstation, printers, LAN, AV, Video conferencing, telephone.
    • Monitoring and supporting the desktop, server, and network environments. Perform diagnostic checks on desktop computers to maintain machine capabilities and freedom from viruses.
    • Assist and participate in implementing and planning strategic IT projects. Responsible for exemplifying the customer service standards set by department.
    • Responsible to create and maintain written documentation on problem solutions, tool configurations and end user documentation.
    • Provide one-on-one instructions/training/guidance to end users and the help desk on use of hardware/ software and standard procedures.
    • Troubleshoot individual computer issues and implement known solutions to problems.Interface with customers and other IT groups to process requests in a timely fashion.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify you must have a Matriculated in an undergraduate program with a major in Information systems, Computer Science or related field. Energetic with strong communication and personal skills.
