    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Business Analyst.

    In this role, the successful candidate as the Business Analyst will support the functional systems health activities for the inventory of financial systems and applications that support procure-to-pay (P2P) operations, user support systems and change management. The Business Analyst will be responsible for data analyses, query/report development, performing quality assurance reviews and testing during periods of system change management as well as be responsible for related documentation. The Business Analyst may also work collaboratively on initiatives with the Optimizations and Efficiency (O&E) Team on an as-needed basis when
    He/she should possess strong skills in data analysis and applications, particularly strong experience with business cycles and processes within the P2P cycle within PeopleSoft FSCM and all interfacing applications. The Business Analyst should be able to identify opportunities for process improvement through use of delivered application functionality, be able to evaluate proposed customizations and weigh any related risks and impact from a functional perspective. The Business Analyst will support functional owners and stakeholders in implementing effective test plans for all changes and application rollouts as well as evaluate data post implementation, where applicable, to measure the outcome and success of changes and relate technology. The candidate will work closely with Medical Center Information Technology (MCIT) staff in ensuring functional users objectives and initiatives are met.
    The candidate must maintain a customer service attitude in conducting his/her work with a balanced mindset that processes and related applications must be efficient for all end-users, both internal users and field users in the NYU Langone Health community. The Business Analyst ideally should have professional experience thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic and deadline-driven environment where s/he is actively engaged in multiple and simultaneous projects. The Business Analyst must be effective in handling multiple tasks and completing projects in a timely manner. He/she will also be called upon to train other cross team members and work effectively in a team setting depending on the size of a project, initiative and the scope of an application.

    Job Responsibilities:

    * Map out business and application processes, with related integration and dependencies
    * Work on other projects as assigned
    * Be able to comfortably present and conduct meetings and perform all project management responsibilities (minutes, follow-up, etc.) based on initiatives and projects assigned
    * Participate in cross-training initiatives with other team members
    * Perform quality assurance reviews and post-production validations for application changes, particularly those done through Break Glass
    * Work collaboratively with the Accounts Payable team on the accounts payable portfolio, serving as a subject matter expert for Accounts Payable, Expenses and PCard; work with other modules as assigned
    * Perform on-going or ad-hoc reporting and analytical projects, including post-implementation monitoring, where applicable
    * Research, classify and analyze large datasets to solve problems and identify trends
    * Develop and write queries, and test queries for effectiveness, prior to use
    * Work effectively with MCIT analysts and developers ensuring functional requirements of BRDs are met with respect to technical design and build
    * Develop and maintain business process/application documentation throughout all phases of the change management cycle.
    * Draft and design effective test plans, with consideration of appropriate processes and/or data, in to mitigate risk and focus testing on appropriate and key testing attributes.
    * Draft and/or evaluate Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) for proposed customizations, implementations and integrations.
    * Maintain business process risks matrices, in order to evaluate risks and impact with respect to business process and application changes.
    * Manage enhancement, defect and service requests related to his/her portfolio of modules within the change management reporting tool to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of requests
    

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration or Management. Education experience with respect to computer applications and or computer science is a plus, but not required.
    A minimum of 2 years of work experience in business process analysis, financial or data analysis or related tasks. The candidate must have analytical and computer skills to support the analysis, documentation and recommendations for improvements of processes across the finance enterprise. The Business Analyst should have solid communication skills that enable the individual to perform interviews with individuals, gather and interpret information as well as convey messages and findings concisely to relevant parties throughout the organization. The individual must be detail oriented and able to work independently and within a team on multiple projects simultaneously. Other minimum qualifications include intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel, Word and Visio. Experience with PeopleSoft Query and Alteryx/Tableau is desired, but not required.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    The candidate is expected to conduct him/herself in a professional manner and should possess qualities of timeliness, respect and customer service. Familiarity with financial reporting, purchasing and payables, audits, and compliance is a preferred. Training experience is desired, but not required.

    Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $63,935.04 - $74,448.40 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
