    Responsibilities :

    • Responsible for maintenance and organization of Infection Prevention activities and data collection.
    • Actively supports staff education across Infection Prevention and Quality Improvement.
    • Participates in activities of performance improvement investigation and follow-up by educating staff on findings.
    • Responsible for assisting in writing policy and procedure related to updated standards with The Joint Commission, also to provide education to the staff after the approval of such policies.
    • Supports evaluation of quality of care and patient outcomes as assigned
    • Collects, prepares and analyzes healthcare-associated infection data
    • Collaborates with director on presentation of infection data and makes data and research supported recommendations for actions
    • Monitors employee compliance in use of barriers and infection prevention measures
    • Prepares and presents educational offerings for the staff
    • Supports departmental rounding to support facility excellence
    • Serves as a resource to all departments and personnel for quality improvement in all areas
    • Implements programs to protect the healthcare workers, visitors, and others in the healthcare environment
    • Sets and recommends policies and procedures to prevent adverse events
    • Provides internal and external reporting of information and data
    • Promotes compliance with regulations, guidelines, and accreditation requirements.
    • Supports orientation education as assigned.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills

    • A minimum of two years of progressive clinical experience in an acute facility preferred.
    • A minimum of two years experience in Quality Management and/or infection control preferred.
    • A minimum of one-year experience with internal and external data management systems.
    • Current license as a Registered Nurse or related healthcare field in the State of Tennessee.
    • Knowledge of hospital organizations, committees, department functions, and performance improvement activities.
    • Effective communication, organizational and leadership skills, independent decision-making, and ability to handle multiple projects.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Working knowledge of TJC, Medicare, and The State of Tennessee standards.
