    Position Summary:

    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Talent Acquisition Assistant- contract. The Talent Acquisition Assistant plays a vital role providing support services to the Talent Acquisition team by posting positions, sourcing and screening candidates, and onboarding new hires.   Also provides support with our Applicant Tracking System to include updating candidate status, schedule interviews, input of new hire information and reporting.

    Job Responsibilities

      • Provides support to the Talent Acquisition Specialists by posting positions, sourcing candidates, screening resumes and candidates, and scheduling interviews. Utilizes various job boards, including but not limited to the applicant tracking system and Smartpost, to post positions. Navigate job boards and conduct searches to locate top talent for the Talent Acquisition team, and conduct phone screens of potential candidates
      • Initiates pre-boarding, organizes and reviews paperwork and also enters/uploads information into PeopleSoft/Silk-Road Recruiting/Onboarding. Handles the onboarding of new hires which includes processing background checks, I-9 form, education and employment verifications, State Central Registry (SCR) forms, plus all related items. Ensures all pertinent information is included and accurate. Closes requisition and any associated postings in system upon completion of pre-boarding process.   Utilizes onboarding software (Silk Road Onboarding) to ensure all new hires begin employment as scheduled
      • Supports the Steps for Success Program by entering the postings weekly on intranet/internet, and distributing the posting to the various units of the Medical Center. Also, posts all union positions with the 1199 Employment Center. Updates job listings on the NYU website and related sites in a timely manner. Creates various job postings on internet sites. Assists in scheduling interviews and physical appointments for the potential new hires. Performs other special projects as needed.
      • Participates in job fairs, outreach events and open houses by registering staff and attends fairs to support the Talent Acquisition Specialists at the events. Assists with Talent Acquisition calendar maintenance. Actively participates with interview days/open houses by posting event, pre-screening and sending formal invitation to qualified applicants, maintaining and monitoring attendee list. Additionally, prepares materials and equipment needed, notifies security of event, and assists in other related duties as assigned.
      • Provides backup support to front desk representatives, plus all other duties as assigned.

     

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of two years administrative or human resources experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Typing 40 wpm and proficiency in MS Word. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Excel, PeopleSoft and Silk Road Onboarding or other requisition/applicant tracking system.
    • Knowledge of onboarding licensed professionals a plus.
