    Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital - Fort Worth is seeking a fulltime OR Nurse Supervisor for the evening shift.   Under the supervision of the Director of Perioperative Services, the Nurse Supervisor is to assure patient-flow through the Operating Room phase is accomplished in an organized and efficient manner with emphasis on high quality patient care. Works afternoon/evening shift (1300-2100). Duties and responsibilities include:

    • Dissemination of information from leadership to the OR staff and from the OR staff to management.
    • Responsible for delegation and oversight of operational activities, including daily staffing assignments, training of staff, and on-call schedules related to the care of the patient the operating room setting.
    • Acts as a primary resource and provides guidance to licensed and non-licensed personnel.
    • Ensure that physician preference cards are appropriately maintained and accurate.
    • Collaborates with Material Management, Radiology, and Sterile Process departments to ensure adequate resources are available and allocated to meet demand of the surgical schedule.
    • Collaborates with the Quality department and infection control RN to ensure the department is adhering to regulatory mandates and evidence-base practice standards.
    • Acts as a patient advocate in meeting his/her physical and psychological needs.
    • Performs patient assessment and reassessment immediately upon admission and on a regular basis in accordance with standards of care with documentation of these assessments as a basis for planning each patient’s care.
    • Ensures that all nursing interventions and patients’ responses are communicated to responsible practitioners as indicated and that all components of the nursing process are documented in accordance with standards of practice.
    • Understand practices and ensures sterile technique. Correctly operates sterilizers.
    • Integrates and coordinates care across settings and among disciplines.
    • Implements physician’s orders effectively and safely in accordance with standards of practice.
    • Utilizes special precautions in the direct care and in the supervision of care provided to sedated patients.
    • Provides appropriate information to nursing personnel regarding the patients’ status on transfer.
    • Documents all records according to established policies and procedures.
    • Assists with reviewing and updating policies and procedure
    • Takes emergency call as assigned.

    • Ability to utilize Electronic Heath Care Record for patient documentation and Kronos payroll management system

    Required Experience

    EDUCATION                                                                                                                 

    • Graduate of accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred

    LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION                                                                                          

    • Current Texas Nursing License
    • BLS required

    SPECIFIC JOB EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a hospital setting
    • Charge RN experience required.
