    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Support Services Assistant.

    In this role, the successful candidate Performs clerical support activities for assigned areas including (not limited to) room bookings, purchase requisitions, employee newHire department orientation, computer entry record maintenance, telephone and electronic communication management. Performs and/or assists with payroll-related functions.

    Job Responsibilities:

    * Responds to patient, family, and visitor needs in a timely manner. Recognizes and responds to issues that may cause problems andor refers issues through proper chain of command utilizing the escalation policy. Maintains open channel of communication through intra and inter shift reporting. Utilizes appropriate communication in all interactions. Screens and handles or forwards calls appropriately.
    * Performs other duties as assigned
    * Supports coworkers in the daily department activities and tasks necessary for meeting customer s needs as directed. Participates in staff meetings and in-services or obtains information presented. Completes daily assignment in an organized, efficient manner. Participates in Quality Improvement activities to improve andor maintain Patient Satisfaction scores.
    * Maintains sufficient levels of inventory of departmental supplies within approved budget. Maintains up to date department files for use and review. Performs routine equipment maintenance and contacts appropriate department to arrange for installationrepair of related equipment. Participates in the orientation of new employees as needed.
    * Responsible for timely and accurate maintenance of the department s employee attendance data in relation to the time and attendance system. Tracks employee attendance including paid time off, unscheduled absences, tardiness, and Family and Medical Leave (FMLA). Informs department director of employee attendance issues in accordance with policy. Produces a variety of time and attendance reports including timesheets, headcount, position management etc.
    * Enters accurate information in various computer databases used for tracking and booking meetings. Accurately reports pertinent information or issues to manger.
    

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify you must have a High School or GED. 3 - 5 years Clerical or secretarial. Excellent communications (both oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, customer service skills. Read, write, and speak English. Basic computer and data entry skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Associate's Degree . 3 - 5 years Clerical or secretarial inHealthcare orHospitality services. Working knowledge of automated timekeeping system.

    Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $39,878.31 - $60,206.57 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
