Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Dental Hygienist, Per Diem.
In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for providing preventative care in the dental clinic in accordance to Winthrop-University s performance standards. These include but are not limited to the core Dental Hygiene skill set involved in promoting oral health, disease prevention, community involvement, provision of optimal patient care while demonstrating professional growth and development.
Job Responsibilities:
* Performs other duties as assigned
* Prepares room and patient for dental hygiene treatment. Completes dental prophylaxis, performs oral cancer screening, controls pain and anxiety, and determines the outcomes of dental hygiene intervention.
* Maintains instruments for treatment and selects materials and equipment for visit according to the patient's oral needs.
* Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of digital radiographic system and follows standard precautions.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify, you must have a Associate's Degree Dental Hygiene. Current NYS Dental Hygienist license and Dental Hygiene Anesthesia. Current CPR certification. 1 - 2 years Dental Hygienist. Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, and organization skills. Demonstrated competency utilizing evidence based practice to provide quality dental hygiene care. Competent in obtaining dental radiographs. Competent in working with electronic dental records (basic computer skills).
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $41.37 - $50.68 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
