    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Polysomnography(Sleep)Tech, ( Respiratory Therapists Welcome to Apply ), Garden City location, Sign-on-Bonus.

    In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for performing polysomnography testing, analysis and associated interventions under the general supervision of a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) and/or the general supervision of a Physician.

    Job Responsibilities:

    * Attaches electrodes in standard manner. Adheres electrodes according to established protocols. Performs In Bed procedures. Plugs electrodes and sensors into headbox using established color coding. Adjust sensors as required. Instructs patient on how to call for help.
    * Performs any treatment trials. PERFORM CPAP Bilevel PAP MATRx titration as per established titration protocol. Performs Bio-Calibrations. Follows list from
    * Performs required Computer related procedures. Initiates Biological recording. Initiates video Recording. Monitors recording during overnight. Ends recording procedures. Enters notes on tech-log and into computer as required. Details documentation of interactions with patient. Fills out Tech summary at end of study and forwards to appropriate persons. Fills out Lab Summary and saves to file.
    * Follows lab protocol to disinfect and store reusable sensors masks CPAP machine, etc.
    * Performs other duties as assigned
    * Explains procedures and test. Shows patient to room, explains paperwork and compiles paperwork into chart after filled out by patient.
    * Explains treatment trial. Shows CPAP video, answers questions. Explains CPAP Bilevel PAP.
    * Scores polysomnography under the supervision of an RPSGT according to lab guidelines.
    

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify, you must have:

    Education associated with a NYS licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational program under Polysomnography grandparent provision prior to February 3, 2014

    OR

    Successful completion of an approved Polysomnography Education program

    OR

    Successful completion of an approved Respiratory Therapy program

    Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS), required. Excellent communication (both oral and written) required. Proficient in scoring sleep studies, required.
    Proficiency in sleep acquisition and sleep scoring systems, required. 60011 Board Registered - Sleep Technologist within 9 Months from date of hire required.

    Required Licenses: Board Registered-Sleep Technologist, Polysomnographic Tech Permit, NYS NYS licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist, NYS licensed, Polysomnographic Technologist

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Associate's Degree from an Approved Polysomnographic Technology Program or Approved Respiratory Therapy Education Program.
    1 - 2 years experience working as a Polysomnographic Technologist.

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $90,100.00 - $100,548.11 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
