    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Trauma Program Manager- Trauma Center- Full Time.

    In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for the oversight and management of the adult and pediatric trauma programs. Manages the Injury Prevention Program and Trauma Registry; involvement with Emergency Medical Services ( EMS) in regards with Process Improvement and policy development; and trauma education for physicians, nurses and Emergency Management System. Oversees trauma quality care and efficient coordination from pre-hospital to discharge and /or rehabilitation. Prepares for and maintains theHospital s trauma designation by The American College of Surgeons (ACS) and New York State Department ofHealth.

    Job Responsibilities:

    * Performs other duties as assigned
    * Participates in planning, developing, organizing, evaluating and in establishing standards of care policies and procedures for the trauma program. Interacts with most hospital departments in monthly multidisciplinary operations and Process Improvement meetings to ensure compliance requirements of ACS. Serves as the point person for overseeing compliance with ACS standards for trauma verification and designation
    * Assists staff in problem solving related to the care of the trauma patient. Establishes with staff priorities of care and ongoing assessment of the trauma patients. Communicates with transferring hospitals and, with the medical examiner s office.
    * Oversees data collection and Quality InsuranceProcess Improvement as related to trauma care. Maintains a record off all trauma related admissions. Performs daily audit of admissions including medical, nursing and EMS response and documentation. Conducts ongoing Emergency Department(ED) nursing chart review with a member of the ED Nursing staff and reports trends to emergency department Director. Oversees trauma registry. Assures registrars are properly credentialed as required by the ACS. Identifies QI issues and reports to trauma director and Trauma Quality management nurse. Provides clinical and statistical information on trauma to clinical and administrative departments, identifies trends and follow-up.
    * Coordinates Trauma Education (i.e. Advanced Trauma Life Support), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course( ENPC), Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support ( PHTLS), programs and quarterly EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM education conferences). Oversees weekly trauma critical CME conference. Collaborates with nursing education to ensure ongoing trauma education for the nursing staff that cares for trauma patients. Provides orientation for new trauma members. Coordinates with the trauma director monthly multidisciplinary trauma conferences.
    * Promotes injury prevention. Distributes injury prevention information within the . Participates in community outreach programs of public education for injury prevention. Serves as a resource for staff in the field of injury prevention. Collaborates with Substance Abuse Services to ensure Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment requirements and verifies ACS compliance.
    * Participates in trauma related research.
    * Prepares and oversees Trauma budget. Assists in identification of new equipment to improve trauma care.
    

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree Nursing or aHealthcare related field. Current and valid NYS Registered Professional Nurse License. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), OR Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), OR Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN) , AND. Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN). 6 - 8 years Experience in ED or Surgical Critical Care. 3 - 5 years Supervisor or manager experience in aHealthcare setting. Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, organization, skills. Ability to work in a team-oriented fashion; results oriented; comfortable in a deadline driven environment. . Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Power Point. .

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Master's Degree Nursing or aHealthcare related field.

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $112,360.00 - $183,129.50 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
