    POSITION SUMMARY: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Associate, PACS/RIS. In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for the maintenance of the patient demographic data in the (Radiology Information System/ Picture Archiving and Communications System) RIS/PACS and Voice to text system to maintain systems and application. Monitors report faxing; maintain referring and Provider Dictionaries. Handle request to medical information request for images, reports and creation of CD creation, upon patient authorization. Responsible for other equipment maintenance and other tasks as directed by the PACS Admin.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Accurately use RIS PACS Verifies coordination of system demographics and corrects as needed. Corrects for duplicate studies. Brings attentions to possible merges of MRN and studies as needed in conjunction with Medical Records Department, notifies the File Room Supervisor and document as necessary.
    • Gather and provide routine information relating to patient images. Develops and maintains a positive working relationship with department and hospital and outside offices. Digitizes films, creates CD or makes standard copies as needed. Retrieve and print Images onto Film as needed. Files and Retrieves radiologic films to from file room and storage areas according to departmental filing system. Logs films in and out to track their location using RIS system.
    • Performs routine inventory of supplies in assigned area, maintains clean work area and environment, including PACS RIS workstations. Communicates any equipment malfunctions. Uses discretion and confidentiality in discussions related to patients, personal or staffing.
    • Assists in preparation for conferences utilizing pull list and patient imaging records in preparation for presentation and transfers to request.
    • Monitors Fax Management, Maintains and Updates Provider Dictionary, Monitors Image Management for Exceptions and resolves in the RISPACS system locks, Carestream PACs, Error Messages and Manages Merge Candidates List.
    • Attends mandatory meetings as requested
    • Provides assistance to end users and training as needed in Net Access. Performs other related duties assigned or directed in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department and hospital.
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify you must have a High School diploma or GED. 1 - 2 years of relevant computer experience. Excellent communication skills (both oral & written), interpersonal, multi-task, and organization skills. Knowledge of Medical Terminology . Demonstrates knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Proficiency with computers.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Computers or Healthcare. 1 - 2 years of Radiology experience. Knowledge of Picture Archiving and Communication System /Radiology Information System
