    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Financial Analyst - Clinical Finance Long Island Region - Bethpage.

    In this role, the successful Financial Analyst reports to the Senior Manager of Clinical Finance for the Long Island Region Finance Mission within NYU Langone Hospitals and will provide Clinical Finance support to the Assistant Director and Senior Manager on a day to day basis. The Financial Analyst is responsible for analyses regarding Clinical Finance which includes Financial Reporting, Budgeting, Data Analyzing, Creating Staffing Models and Improving Efficiency / Productivity. In addition, the Financial Analyst will also be responsible in analyzing clinical data for use in developing analytics for clinical customers. The Financial Analyst should have a good working relationship with the clinical departments to understand their budget assumptions in order to investigate causes of variances, both volume/revenue and expense. Continuous engagement with clinical departments to explore revenue and expense opportunities. The Financial Analyst will assist with Ad-Hoc requests from the Director of Clinical Finance.

    Job Responsibilities:

    * Utilizes the Cost Accounting system to obtain profit & loss, contribution margin, payor rates, trending, and identify opportunities for improvement for both inpatient and outpatient services.
    * Reviews monthly budget reclassifications to ensure sound budgeting and to align the staffing needs with volume trajectory. This includes ROI and detailed justifications to ensure that the Hospitals' operating margins are not affected by these requested changes.
    * Incorporates new technologies, systems, and processes to improve the daily operations of the Department. 
    * Reviews and tracks Human Capital Management (HCM) transactions to ensure correlation between volume and staffing levels. 
    * Utilizes the General Ledger to provide budgetary and actual information using trends and projections. 
    * Investigates causes of variance within various hospital departments in order to identify operational and financial opportunities. 
    * Assists with the NYU Langone Hospitals clinical capital budget requests to ensure that the requests are aligned to patient needs while ensuring that the capital budget is fiscally managed.
    * Review PeopleSoft procurement transactions to ensure requests are budgeted and/or correlates to volume/revenue. 
    * Assists with monthly budget performance analytics which includes analyzing causes and reasons of budget variance for revenue, expense, and volume metrics.
    * Assists in analytics that will inform strategic planning including long range plan assumptions. 
    * Assists in annual and monthly operating budget planning with respect to revenue, expense, and volume. 
    * Assists with special projects as needed.
    

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree Business, Finance, Accounting or related field. 1 year of experience working in Financial analysis, budgeting, report preparation. Excellent communication (both oral and written), organizational, analytical skills. Ability to communicate with all levels of management. Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Ability to analyze data and spot trends.

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $92,710.42 - $154,517.38 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
