    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Vascular Technologist - NYU Langone Ambulatory Care Garden City.

    In this role, the successful candidate Operates sonography equipment, performs and communicates results of diagnostic examinations using Sonography. Responsible for daily operations of the sonography laboratory, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assessment (QA). Maintains aHigh standard of medical ethics at all times. Dotted Line:

    Job Responsibilities:

    * Operates Ultrasound equipment to take diagnostic images of specific body areasparts as ordered. Produces diagnostic images for interpretation by the Radiologist or Vascular Surgeon.
    * Performs other duties as assigned
    * Keeps abreast of new procedures as they evolve to advance personal understanding and knowledge of the field and disease.
    * Works with ultrasound students to perform exams as well as individual image evaluation. Instructs and supervises ultrasound students in clinical practicum.
    * Reports any equipment problems or malfunctions to the Supervisor in a timely fashion. Assists in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies.
    * Accurately utilizes the Radiology Information System to enter proper exam coding.
    * Accurately utilizes the PACS system to make images available to the Radiologist or Vascular Surgeon for interpretation.
    * Prepares patient using proper positioning andor immobilizing and gives them the appropriate instructions regarding the procedure. Ensures quality review of the technologists images fall within the guidelines of departmental SOP.
    

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify you must have a Technical DiplomaTwo year ultrasound program. Current and valid Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) **Current and valid Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) credential from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) would be considered in lieu of RVT. However, the Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) is required to be obtained within one year ofHire or transfer. 1 - 2 years Vascular scanning. Ability to effectively operate sonography equipment and to evaluate sonograms in order to acquire appropriate information. Ability to work efficiently and cope with emergency situations. Strong communication (both written and oral), detail orientation, customer service, and multitasking skills. Basic computer skills. .

    Required Licenses: Reg Vascular Technologist-Cert

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Bachelor's Degree In a related field. 3 - 5 years Vascular scanning.

    Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $87,229.84 - $106,856.78 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
