POSITION SUMMARY: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Dosimetrist. In this role, the successful candidate generates optimized patient-specific treatment plans in consultation with the Radiation Oncologist and the physicist. Performs selected daily or monthly quality assurance tasks and provides operational therapeutic radiological physics services as prescribed by the chief physicist of the Division of Radiation Oncology. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assembles patient data required for treatment planning and dose calculations. Imports studies in a timely manner.
• Operates treatment planning software. Understands the basic operation of all treatment planning systems
• Computes accelerator monitor unit settings. Computes beam-on-time settings accurately using appropriate data.
• Computes brachytherapy treatment times. Verifies total high dose rate dwell times. Verifies total dose rate for low dose temporary implants. Verifies total activity of seed implants using the nomogram.
• Performs periodic checks of treatment records. Correctly performs weekly physics chart checks according to departmental procedure.
• Performs quality assurance of treatment planning systems. Performs assigned quality assurance tasks accurately and thoroughly.
• Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify you must have a Graduate of RTT (Radiation Therapy Technologist) program or Bachelor's degree in Physics or related field. Minimum 3 years of experience as a medical dosimetrist or certification by the MDCB (in lieu of the 3 years of experience requirement). REQUIRED LICENSES: Certified Medical Dosimetrists

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor, s Degree Physics or related field. 1-2 years Experience in working as a dosimetrist in a Radiation oncology Setting.
