    POSITION SUMMARY: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Coordinator, Educational Informatics - NYU Long Island School of Medicine. In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for providing and supporting a broad array of education-related IT applications. Support the team. Responsible for building and supporting software applications for curriculum management, assessment & evaluation components including administration, analysis and visualization of data and developing innovative applications and infrastructure for undergraduate medical education.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintains central repository of curricular content and assessment items. Uploads and maintains course material and assessment items from a central repository (Cloud Drive by Box) to the learning management system (Brightspace). Uploads content to specific course locations within Brightspace, maintains calendar and keep information within calendar (learning objectives, keywords, etc.) up to date.
    • Coordinates training as needed on NYU Langone-developed applications as well as education-related commercial software to faculty, students, and staff.
    • Provides Tier 2 application support services for NYU Long Island School of Medicine faculty, students and staff. Respond to, resolve, or properly route all customer inquiries involving specific education-related applications (mostly web-based) and service requests.
    • Works with NYU Langone development team to do application testing and debugging as part of the Quality Assurance software development life cycle. Daily monitoring of the Brightspace, TITAN (curriculum mapping) and COMET (evaluation and assessment) sites. Collates disparate sources of information/content and facilitate adding the content on Brightspace (curricular and co-curricular).
    • Collaborates with members of the NYU Winthrop Instructional Design and Innovation Center to support curricular design and implementation. Interface with customers and Medical Center IT groups to process requests in a timely fashion.
    • Provides assistance to end-users: problem identification, instruction, and resolution of problems either over-the-phone, via email, or in person. Responsible for creating and maintaining written documentation on problem solutions, tool configurations and end user guides. Prepare answers to frequently asked questions from faculty, staff and students.
    • Provide individualized training/guidance to end users on use of education-related applications. Monitor the assigned application queue(s) in the Front Range ticket system. Log real time entries documenting actions taken on all ticket requests. Close tickets within established service levels.
    • Perform related duties as assigned or requested.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree in a related field. 1 - 3 years experience with web applications and technologies. Proficient in MS Office. Excellent consultative and communication skills, analytical ability, decisiveness, strong judgment, and the ability to work effectively with clients, IT management, staff and vendors. Know when it is appropriate to escalate a problem. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to understand the business and technical needs of the client as well as foster customer relationship building and deliver outstanding customer service. Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users; ability to work effectively with customers. Candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, support multiple initiatives simultaneously, prioritize work to meet and or exceed established service levels and be dependable.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree Preferred. LMS experience (Brightspace preferred): Uploading content, trouble shooting and support. Tableau and/or Business Intelligence software experience desired. HTML experience: programming and design. Instructional Design experience including: Creative Cloud, Poll Everywhere, Storyline 360, video capture and editing, course development support for faculty and a familiarity with education theories. Interest in cultivating software development skills.
