    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Cardiovascular Technician / Perfusion Services.

    In this role, the successful candidate Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Cardiothoracic OR functions as an assistant in the operating room, supporting perfusionist/anesthesiologist/surgeon with various tasks related to an operation, including but not limited to assisting the Perfusionist before, during and after cardiopulmonary bypass with the heart lung machine, placement of hemodynamic monitoring catheters for OR, Cardiac Cath Lab and ICU. Also, as a cell saver technician performing duties related to collection and processing of autologous blood.

    Job Responsibilities:

    * Support Perfusionist(s) before during and after cardiac surgical procedures with the following equipment: cell saver machines, heater coolers, and intra aortic balloon pumps.
    * Assist with transporting patient to and from OR table and to and from unit bed if necessary
    * Assist with the POC responsibilities such as with our anticoagulation devices, cell saver machines, platelet gel machines, etc.
    * Maintain/clean/disinfect of all heater-coolers/cell savers/platelet gel machines, ECMO, heart/lung machines, equipment processors, sterile drying cabinets and TEE imaging equipment and probes
    * Perform equipment processing and disinfection of TEE probes in compliance with department policies and regulatory requirements. Maintains accurate equipment processing records. 
    * Performs daily /weekly/monthly equipment maintenance and quality control tasks in accordance with established policies and schedules.
    * Monitors par levels of stock and supply carts to ensure necessary supplies are readily available.
    * Trains new staff members/works with Perfusion students 
    * Performs other related duties as assigned
    

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify, you must have a Associate's Degree.

    Previous hospital experience desired.

    Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

    Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.

    Work requires regular walking, standing, significant pushing and carrying of equipment and lifting/positioning of patients

    Work hours may exceed scheduled hours, even when not on call, due to emergency cases or unforeseen circumstances.

    Must take rotating on-call responsibilities for overnights/weekends and holidays. For emergency on-call responses, must be able to be in the facility within 30 minutes of call notification.

    Preferred Licenses: CliniclLabTechnolgst-NYSPermit, Clinical Lab Technologist-NYS

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $61,144.62 - $70,621.88 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
