    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Billing Coordinator - NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York - Bethpage.

    In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for computing bills, charge review, follow-ups, correcting, and entering claim information in the billing system as assigned by management.

    Job Responsibilities:

    * Performs other duties as assigned
    * Performs billing tasks assigned by management which may include data entry, claim review, charge review, accounts receivable follow-up, or other related responsibilities. Provides input on system edits, processes, policies, and billing procedures to ensure maximization of revenues. Performs daily tasks in assigned work queues and according to manager assignments.
    * Follows workflows provided in training classes and requests additional training as needed. Enters account notes using standard formatting.
    * Uses payer websites, coding websites, billing system and/or communicates with providers, patients, coders, or other responsible persons, to ensure the correctness and completeness of charges and claims, or to follow-up on accounts receivable to ensure that items in assigned work queue(s) are resolved within required time frames.
    * Ensures that work complies with operational policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements. Participates in work groups and meetings; attends all required training classes; escalates issues to management as needed; maintains confidentiality; reads and applies policies and procedures to make appropriate decisions; coordinates functions and works cooperatively with others; explains processes and procedures to others.
    * Meet benchmark levels based on departmental standards.
    

    Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:
    Performs all tasks related to Fertility treatment and pharmacy authorizations as required by insurers, benefit management plans, and per policy.
    Excellent communication and documentation skills
    Must function as a member of team
    Requires ability to discern and question replies from insurers.
    Provides updates in auth requirements to management
    Excellent user of technology
    Prefer knowledge of fertility treatment.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify you must have a High School or Equivalent. 1 - 2 years Medical billing, A/R, insurance, or related experience. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office. Excellent communication (both oral and written); ability to interact with, and maintain functional relationships with patients, practice management and staff personnel, insurance carriers, and other personnel at all levels within and outside of the organization. Knowledge of Current Procedure Terminology (CPT-4), International Classification of Diseases, Ninth Revision (ICD-10), medical office procedures, and managed care billing. Knowledge of Healthcare billing including Medicare, Medicaid, or other third party payer. Knowledge of terminology utilized in medical billing.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Knowledge of EPIC Professional Billing.

    Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $51,206.48 - $59,860.32 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
