    ROLE SUMMARY

    The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the Accounting Department with all weekly accounts payable, accounting activities and assisting with the month-end accounting cycle, including bank reconciliations, weekly reporting, vendor statement reviews and general ledger maintenance. As with all members of the Nando's family, the Staff Accountant will be expected to wear multiple hats, seek out opportunities to make Nando's and themselves better every day, and in general, be a good team player! The essential functions of this position are mapped out below:

    KEY FOCUS AREAS

    • Restaurant Operations Support

    • Import and review daily sales activity

    • Import and review restaurant invoices weekly

    • Track, process, and reconcile restaurant purchase orders, invoices, statements, credit notes, and checks in compliance with accounting policies and procedures

    • Monitor and record restaurant comps and promos and paid outs

    • Book, analyze and troubleshoot Inventory weekly

    • Accounting Team Support

    • Assist the accounting team with bank reconciliations, online order and delivery reconciliations, over/short reviews and loss prevention efforts

    • Weekly and periodic Great Plains reporting

    • Assist with accounting for, processing, and paying sales and use tax monthly

    • Assist with tax matters as they arise, including personal property taxes and business license

    • Assist with weekly ACH and check run

    • Support the Accounting Team by assisting with additional projects as they arise

    ROLE REQUIREMENTS

    EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
    • 3+ years' experience in administration, accounting, operational finance or month end cycle processes
    • Previous role in restaurant, hospitality, or retail corporate finance department preferred

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL

    • Ability to proactively identify and solve for issues as they arise
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Microsoft Excel skills
    • Proficiency in Great Plains skills
    • Exceptional communications skills (verbal and written)
