    We are seeking a full-time, experienced Professional Nanny to provide exceptional childcare for our family. This is a long-term position for a trustworthy, energetic, and child-focused individual who will take primary responsibility for the daily care, supervision, education, and enrichment of our children. The ideal candidate is someone who genuinely loves working with children, demonstrates patience and creativity, maintains the highest standards of safety and responsibility, and is committed to supporting our children's development and wellbeing.

    This position requires someone who can maintain consistent routines, implement age-appropriate activities, prepare nutritious meals, assist with light housekeeping related to the children, coordinate schedules, and communicate openly with parents about daily activities, developmental milestones, and any concerns. We are looking for a nanny who will become a trusted member of our family, providing stability, warmth, and exceptional care for years to come. Must be Bi Lingual.

    Key Responsibilities

    Childcare & Supervision

    Provide full-time, attentive care and supervision for children throughout the workday, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and happiness at all times

    Maintain consistent daily routines including morning routines, meal times, nap/quiet times, outdoor play, educational activities, and bedtime preparations

    Engage children in age-appropriate developmental activities, including:

    Educational games and learning activities (alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, early literacy)

    Creative arts and crafts projects

    Outdoor play, physical activities, and exploration

    Music, singing, and movement activities

    Reading books and storytelling

    Imaginative and pretend play

    Social skills development and emotional regulation support

    Fine and gross motor skill development activities

    Foster emotional development by providing warmth, affection, positive reinforcement, and consistent behavioral guidance using gentle, respectful discipline techniques

    Implement age-appropriate behavioral expectations and boundaries, using positive discipline strategies, redirection, natural consequences, and consistent routines

    Support toilet training, potty learning, or other developmental milestones as appropriate for children's ages

    Monitor and respond to children's emotional and physical needs throughout the day, providing comfort, reassurance, and support.

    Health, Safety & Wellbeing

    Ensure children's safety at all times, maintaining constant supervision and implementing safety protocols in all environments (home, car, playground, community outings)

    Administer medications as needed (if applicable), following proper dosage, timing, and documentation procedures

    Manage allergies, dietary restrictions, or medical conditions according to family instructions and emergency action plans

    Recognize signs of illness or injury, provide appropriate first aid, and communicate immediately with parents regarding any health concerns

    Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for children, including regular toy sanitization, age-appropriate safety measures, and hazard prevention

    Follow strict car safety protocols, including proper use of car seats, booster seats, and seat belts according to Minnesota state law and manufacturer guidelines

    Implement emergency procedures in case of fire, severe weather, medical emergency, or other safety situations

    Meals & Nutrition

    Prepare nutritious, balanced meals and snacks for children according to family dietary preferences and any restrictions (allergies, religious requirements, health conditions)

    Plan age-appropriate meals that expose children to variety, encourage healthy eating habits, and accommodate individual preferences when appropriate

    Support positive mealtime behaviors, including sitting at the table, trying new foods, using utensils appropriately, and cleaning up after meals

    Maintain kitchen cleanliness related to children's meals, including washing dishes, wiping down surfaces, and properly storing food

    Document food intake and any feeding concerns for infants, toddlers, or children with medical conditions requiring monitoring

    Educational Support & Enrichment

    Support early learning and school readiness through intentional educational activities, literacy exposure, and developmentally appropriate challenges

    Assist with homework, reading practice, or educational assignments for school-age children (if applicable)

    Coordinate and transport children to extracurricular activities, classes, playdates, library programs, or enrichment opportunities (if applicable and agreed upon)

    Engage in daily reading time, exposing children to books, storytelling, and language development activities

    Encourage curiosity, exploration, and learning through hands-on activities, nature walks, science experiments, cooking projects, and discovery play

    Support language development through conversation, singing, vocabulary building, and expressive/receptive language activities

    Provide opportunities for social interaction with peers through playdates, park outings, library story times, or community activities (as family prefers)

    Household Management Related to Children

    Maintain organization of children's spaces, including bedrooms, playrooms, and common areas used by children

    Children's laundry: Wash, dry, fold, and put away children's clothing, bedding, and towels

    Manage children's belongings, including organizing toys, books, art supplies, and ensuring items are age-appropriate and in good condition

    Restock children's supplies as needed, including diapers, wipes, toiletries, snacks, and notifying parents when items need to be purchased

    Prepare children's bags for outings, including packing snacks, drinks, extra clothing, diapers/pull-ups, and any necessary items

    Tidy up after children's activities, including cleaning up toys, art supplies, meal areas, and play spaces throughout the day

    Light housekeeping directly related to childcare, such as wiping down high chairs, cleaning up spills, vacuuming play areas, and maintaining tidy common spaces used during the day

    Transportation & Scheduling

    Provide reliable transportation for children to and from school, activities, appointments, or outings (requires valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable vehicle)

    Coordinate and manage children's schedules, including drop-offs, pick-ups, activity times, and appointment reminders

    Plan and execute age-appropriate outings, including parks, libraries, museums, playgrounds, splash pads, nature centers, and community events

    Ensure car safety with proper car seat installation, regular safety checks, and adherence to all traffic laws and safety protocols

    Communication & Collaboration with Parents

    Maintain open, proactive communication with parents through daily updates about children's activities, behaviors, milestones, and any concerns

    Provide daily recap via text, app, or verbal debrief covering meals, naps, activities, social interactions, and developmental observations

    Document and share developmental milestones, memorable moments, photos (with permission), and achievements

    Communicate immediately about any safety incidents, injuries, behavioral concerns, or health issues

    Collaborate with parents on discipline approaches, routine changes, developmental goals, and parenting strategies to ensure consistency

    Participate in regular check-ins with parents to discuss children's progress, schedules, household needs, and any adjustments to care routines

    Be receptive to feedback and willing to adapt care approaches to align with family values and parenting philosophy

    Required Qualifications

    Experience & Background

    Minimum 3-5 years of professional childcare experience as a nanny, daycare provider, preschool teacher, or similar role working with children in the relevant age range

    Demonstrated experience caring for multiple children simultaneously, managing different ages, needs, and schedules

    Strong references from previous families or childcare employers attesting to reliability, trustworthiness, childcare skills, and professionalism

    Proven track record of long-term employment with families, demonstrating stability and commitment

    Education & Training

    High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field strongly preferred

    Current CPR and First Aid certification (Pediatric CPR/First Aid required; we can assist with obtaining if recently expired)

    Formal training in child development, early childhood education, or childcare preferred

    Legal Requirements

    Valid driver's license with clean driving record (no major violations, DUIs, or accidents in the past 3 years)

    Reliable, insured vehicle for transporting children

    Ability to pass comprehensive background check, including criminal history, driving record, and reference verification

    Legal authorization to work in the United States (must provide documentation)

    Up-to-date immunizations (Tdap, MMR, varicella, annual flu vaccine) or willingness to obtain

    Strong knowledge of child development milestones, age-appropriate activities, and developmental needs for the relevant age range

    Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to provide clear, timely updates to parents

    Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to maintain consistent routines and manage schedules effectively

    Problem-solving abilities and good judgment in addressing behavioral challenges, safety concerns, or unexpected situations

    Physical stamina and energy to keep up with active children, including ability to lift children (up to 40 lbs), bend, kneel, sit on floor, and engage in active play

    Basic cooking skills with ability to prepare healthy, age-appropriate meals and snacks

    Proficiency with technology for communication, photo sharing, and schedule management (texting, email, family communication apps)

    Preferred Qualifications

    Bilingual proficiency English, Arabic, Turkish, Somali

    Formal degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or related field

    Experience working with children with special needs, developmental delays, or behavioral challenges (if applicable to family needs)

    Knowledge of positive discipline techniques, such as Conscious Discipline, Positive Parenting, or similar approaches

    Montessori, Reggio Emilia, or Waldorf training or familiarity with alternative early childhood educational philosophies

    Infant care experience, including newborn care, breastfeeding support, and sleep training (if applicable)

    Experience with potty training, sleep training, or other developmental transitions

    First aid and CPR instructor certification or advanced pediatric medical training

    Clean eating, nutrition, or culinary training with ability to prepare creative, healthy meals

    Teaching or tutoring experience for school-age children

    Arts, music, or recreational skills to provide enriching activities (art instruction, musical instruments, sports coaching, etc.)
