    NanoSD’s Electrical Engineer position offers an opportunity for a candidate with strong electrical engineering skills specifically with a focus toward electromechanical fitness-oriented consumer products to work on the world’s first energy devices. The successful candidate must excel in a small team, take initiative, and have a passion for making the world a difference both environmentally and economically. The ideal individual should be a self-motivated, a tinkerer, resourceful, have strong project management skills, be organized and work within given time and budgetary constraints. They must be able to work collaboratively both in a virtual and in-office environment while handling a variety of stages of development including requirements definition, concept design, prototyping, detailed design, validation, and verification testing.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    · Manage requirements traceability and evolution through the system development cycle

    · Review and interpret customer specification effectively

    · Evaluate system performance thresholds and providing direction

    · Create prototype solutions for new product development

    · Design and built test fixtures and Bed-of-Nails for PCBA verification

    · Work with other Scientists and Engineers in developing instrumented flight test vectors and data acquisition

    · Determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead)

    · Provide input for model development and simulation analysis

    · Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles

    · Develop systems test plans, procedures, and reports and reviewed and interpreted specifications

    · Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system design weaknesses

    · Perform lab work to perform root cause analysis on circuits

    · Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results

    · Provide weekly status of system development progress with requirements burn down

    · Influences the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems

    · Other duties as assigned

    REQUIREMENTS

    · Legal US Resident (Citizenship or Green Card)

    · Has brought a product and/or PCBA to market

    · Ability to pioneer development of overall form factor by prototyping fast and efficiently, while understanding the long-term goals

    · Has managed requirements traceability and evolution through the system development cycle

    · Expertise in Altium or other PCB Design Software that involves designing and reviewing schematic design, component selection, and PCBA layout

    · CAD design expert (preferably Auto CAD or SolidWorks)

    · Proficiency with C/C++, Matlab, office software, and computer-based productivity tools required

    · Ability to work side-by-side with mechanical engineering and other constituents for product design

    · Familiarity with EMC/Radio Frequency and can work with RF engineers

    · Familiarity with regulatory certifications and has worked with testing labs

    · Experience with selection of batteries, review of datasheet, and benchtop verification

    · Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

    · 3 - 5 years of industry experience.

    · Writing Systems Safety protocols and ensuring personnel safety during field testing

    PREFERENCES

    · Taking a product from concept to production with contract manufacturers is a plus

    · Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties

    · Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives

    · Takes ownership and responsibility for current and past work products

    · Has effective problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.

    · Consistently demonstrates teamwork, collaboration and puts the success of the team above one's own interests

    · Exposure to Guidance Navigation and Control Systems along with Modeling Simulation & Control and Model-Based Systems Engineering is helpful but not required

    · Possesses an interest in creating Architectures using Model Based Engineering tools
