Job Description

We are looking for a CTO/CSO, RNA Delivery System (LNP) with a proven track record in biochemical engineering and nanomedicine to lead the development of novel delivery systems for different technology platforms, including mRNA vaccines, therapeutics, siRNA, and in vivo gene editing. As a CSO/CTO/founding partner, you will be responsible for leading a team of experts and technicians to develop a differentiated LNP-based delivery system for RNA. Join us in shaping the future!

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of experts and technicians to develop a differentiated LNP-based delivery system for RNA
• Collaborate with the RNA team to conduct in vitro and in vivo studies, leading to eventual clinical trials
• Improve upon the current mainstream LNP-based delivery systems, to increase the expression rate, lower the immunogenicity, etc.
• Lead formulation development of mRNA drug targets entailing delivery formulations for in vitro/in vivo studies
• Evaluate novel ideas for RNA delivery systems, including LNP-based systems and non-LNP-based systems
• Develop LNP novel formulations and explore new processes for formulation design, CMC, and large-scale production
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for clear communication of scientific findings across interdisciplinary teams

Qualifications

** Minimum Qualifications** :

• PhD in Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Pharmaceutical Sciences
• 4+ years of industry experience in RNA delivery system R&D with hands-on experience in RNA delivery system development, experience with LNP or other nanoparticles is essential
• Direct experience with RNA encapsulation, quantification, and characterization

Preferred qualifications :

• Demonstrated success in nucleic acid delivery system development with hands-on experience in delivery formulations and characterization
• Experience in developing novel and effective RNA delivery systems, which are differentiated from mainstream LNP delivery systems would be advantageous
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage a research team
• Desire to work in a fast-paced environment dynamic startup environment on cross-functional teams
• Track record of innovative and impactful research including peer-reviewed publications, expertise preferred in vaccine biology, nanoparticle formulation, oval delivery system, targeted therapy using nanoparticle
• Ready to work in a biotech start-up with a founding partner mindset
• Ability to effectively interact and communicate with multidisciplinary scientists, both internally and externally, excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills essential
• Willing to Relocate to Boston or Munich is preferred but not necessary
• Experience with mRNA vaccine development is preferred but not necessary
