    Napa Home & Garden a dynamic home décor wholesaler with its headquarters in Duluth, GA, is searching for a driven, energetic team player to join our growing team. We provide sophisticated products for the home, selling to style-conscious retailers via a best-in-class shopping experience.     Job Purpose:

    Based in the Atlanta region, the Buying Assistant is responsible for executing action plans, set forth by the Buyer according to merchandising strategies that directly support the process of selecting, buying and bringing to market new products on a cyclical basis. This role is essential in growing the ever-evolving Napa product line and achieving business objectives. This is a fast-paced, deadline-driven role that integrates with the entire product team as well as cross-functional teams to support new assortment launches twice annually. We are looking for someone who is passionate about product and process, with a keen interest in home décor and interior design.

    • Extremely organized and detail oriented with exceptional multi-tasking and time management skills
    • Adept in cost calculations, data analysis and market research
    • An articulate and coherent communicator, both written and verbal
    • Forward-thinking with propensity toward anticipating and trouble-shooting potential challenges
    • Confident with a positive, “can-do” attitude and strong work ethic
    • Interested in home décor trends with an eye and appreciation for materials, finishes, colors

    Duties and responsibilities:

    Product Development

    • Working closely with Buyer, maintain assortment status and product details in master file, for 2-3 seasons simultaneously
    • Manage daily communications with agents and factories specific to new product developments
    • Assist with establishing cost targets; process cost of goods and asses viability of products within target cost structure; negotiate as necessary
    • Track development status according to launch timelines, flag at-risk items
    • Ensure all product details (design details and costs) are solidified for clean hand-off to product management team
    • Assist with category performance assessments
    • Conduct market research and competition evaluation
    • Organize post-trip assets, including photo sorting, quotes, vendor presentations/catalogs
    • Learn and become well-versed in vendor capabilities
    • Maintain vendor swatch library in Duluth office
    • Provide general support to Buyer as needed

    Other Responsibilities

    • Assist with proofing catalogs to ensure integrity of new product information
    • Assist with pre-show prep in showroom twice annually
    • Participate in Sales Meetings, Product Training Meetings and Trade Shows
    • Manage special projects as assigned

    Skills:

    • Proficient cost-of-goods and wholesale/retail pricing skills
    • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
    • Ability to seamlessly multi-task and prioritize
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) as well as Adobe; V-Lookup and Pivot Table applications in Excel are required
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in Wholesale (will consider relevant Retail experience)
    • Bachelor or Associate Degree in merchandising preferred
    • Extended hours and weekends during peak show times, twice annually in flagship showroom
    • Future potential international travel to support Buyer on sourcing trips (not a requirement)

    Qualifications :

    • Minimum 3 years of experience in Wholesale (will consider relevant Retail experience)
    • Bachelor or Associate Degree in merchandising preferred

    Extended hours/Travel Requirements:

    • Extended hours and weekends during peak show times, twice annually in flagship showroom
    • Future potential international travel to support Buyer on sourcing trips (not a requirement)

    Physical requirements :

    • Sitting, Standing, Walking
    • Lifting: Raising or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling)
    • Carrying, Pushing, Pulling boxes, catalogs, sample orders up to 50 lbs.

    The successful candidate must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
