    About Us: Recognizing that Nashville—despite its reputation as a health services capital—ranked far behind peer cities in community health, physician and former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist M.D. established NashvilleHealth as a community focused collaborative health movement to address the city’s health disparities and to move the needle on Nashville’s health challenges. NashvilleHealth’s mission is to substantially and measurably improve the health and well-being of every single Nashvillian. The organization is led by CEO Mark H. Yancy. This role reports directly to the CEO.

    Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our leadership team. As a member of the organizational C-suite, the COO will play a pivotal and significant leadership role in overseeing the operational aspects of our organization, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with our mission. Other duties may be assigned beyond the below description.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Strategic Leadership

    •Collaborate with the CEO and other executives to develop and implement strategic initiatives that advance NashvilleHealth’s mission and goals.

    •Provide leadership in the development and execution of organizational strategies, programs, and procedures.

    •Direct management of staff roles per expansion as delineated by CEO, to include recruitment of potential talent needed by the organization, and serve as chief liaison to third-party contracted or retained partners

    2. Operational Management

    •Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning of all departments.

    •Develop and implement operational programs and procedures to enhance organizational effectiveness.

    •Ensure state licensure, reporting, and governance regulations are met in keeping with 501(c) 3 status.

    3. Financial Management

    •Manage and monitor NashvilleHealth’s financial performance, budgets, and resource allocation.

    •Identify opportunities for cost savings and fundraising to support sustainable growth.

    4. Program Oversight

    •Collaborate with program leaders and oversee project development to ensure effective delivery and implementation of programmatic efforts.

    •Project management of inter-organizational collective and collaborative impact projects and intra-organizational priorities.

    •Monitor and evaluate program outcomes and recommend improvements as needed.

    •Report program updates to community leaders and stakeholders.

    5. Quality Assurance

    •Establish and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure high quality programmatic implementation and delivery.

    •Implement and evaluate metrics to measure and improve organizations performance across all departments.

    6. Collaboration and Partnerships

    •Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with external stakeholders, including community organizations, government agencies, businesses, and stakeholders.

    •Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals (to include interns).

    •Be able to represent the organization in all aspects, communication, media, and external engagements and partnerships.

    Qualifications:

    •Master’s degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or a related field.

    •Proven experience in executive leadership role(s).

    •Strong understanding of organizational operations, regulations, and compliance.

    •Excellent strategic planning and decision-making skills.

    •Demonstrated success in financial management and resource optimization.

    •Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills inside the organization and with external partnerships and events
