  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    The Education and Community Engagement Intern will provide support for all the day-to-day activities of the Education and Community Engagement department of the Nashville Symphony. The department of Education and Community Engagement is responsible for the Symphony’s music education initiatives, student and family concerts, community partnerships, and adult education programs. The intern will assist in preparation for and execution of the Young People’s Concerts and Curb Concerto Competition, provide support at Accelerando information sessions and auditions, and deliver Instrument Petting Zoo programs to local schools and community programs. A background in music education or working with students is a plus, but not required. 

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    All interns must be students at accredited colleges and universities.

    • The internship must be a part of the student’s curriculum.
    • The internship must provide earned hours that are directly applied to the student’s degree.
    • Interns must work a minimum of 135 hours per semester.
    • Interns must be available to work some evenings and select weekends during the season.
    • Interns must be high-energy, detail-oriented, team players.
    • Internships do not provide compensation.
    • Internships do not guarantee full-time positions with the Symphony upon completion.
