    Job Description

    The Marketing and Communications Intern will provide support and enhancement for all of the day-to-day activities of the Marketing and Communications departments of the Nashville Symphony. This internship gives students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with a major performing arts organization and to learn in a collaborative, creative environment. During the course of the internship, students will get to work on the following initiatives:

    • Digital, email and direct mail marketing
    • Marketing & sales campaign development
    • On-site promotions/experiential marketing
    • Grassroots & niche marketing
    • Marketing research
    • Content creation
    • Advertising
    • Branding
    • General day-to-day departmental administration

    Knowledge of classical music and the performing arts are not required, but will be considered favorably.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    All interns must be students at accredited colleges and universities.

    • The internship must be a part of the student’s curriculum OR the internship must provide earned hours that are directly applied to the student’s degree.
    • Interns must work a minimum of 135 hours per semester.
    • Interns must be available to work evenings during the season.
    • Interns must be high-energy, detail-oriented, team players.
    • Internships do not provide compensation.
    • Internships do not guarantee full-time positions with the Symphony upon completion.
