    Job Description

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The Emotional Brain Institute (EBI), is a multidisciplinary institute addressing the neurobiology of emotion. We seek to hire an hourly basic technical assistance in our animal lab.

    JOB DUTIES:

    This person will help with neurobiology research, including histology (cutting and staining brains), animal care and assist in gathering data for experiments. Also critical are, good interpersonal skills, independent and mature, great problem solving ability, persistence, excellent organizational skills, good attention to detail, quick learner, ability to work efficiently and excellent time management skills.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    This person must have some basic college level courses in biology, animal behavior, and /or cell biology. This person must enjoy working with animals. Also critical are, good interpersonal skills, independent and mature, great problem-solving ability, persistence, excellent organizational skills, good attention to detail, quick learner, ability to work efficiently and excellent time management skills.

    BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION/JUSTICE CENTER REVIEW REQUIREMENTS:

    Prospective appointees will be: 1) Checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment. 2) Screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR). Prospective employees whose names are indicated on the SCR may be barred from appointment.
