POSITION PURPOSE
The IT Application Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining NEBA's IT environment, ensuring adherence to established standards and specifications under the guidance of the IT Infrastructure Manager. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, self-motivation, and a proactive approach to tasks. The ideal candidate is highly organized, capable of working independently, and maintains a positive outlook while upholding the company's cultural values. As a valued member of the TechOps team, they contribute significantly to supporting both internal operations and client services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Respond to email, phone calls and support requests from employees and customers seeking help with software or computer related issues.
- Provide walk-through support to internal and external users using meeting communication software such as Zoom or any other video conferencing software available.
- Enter tickets and process tickets in help desk software.
- Coordinate with software vendors relating to support items.
- Document, track, monitor and escalate support requests to ensure a timely resolution.
- Implement new business systems as and when required by the organization (both 'off the shelf', and self-developed)
- Maintain existing business systems as required by continually monitoring the performance of systems and optimizing and tuning when required
- Ensure that all implemented business systems meet current and future legal requirements
- Perform QA and Testing to ensure safe and accurate system release into production
- Implement, maintain and manage the NEBA Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
OTHER FUNCTIONS
· Performs other duties or tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience.
- Must be able to adapt to the rapidly changing needs of the business based on direction and/or shifting requirements.
- 2+ years of customer service experience, preferred not required.
- 2+ years relevant work experience in related industries, preferred not required.
- Strong communication skills both oral and written
- Familiar with PC hardware & software, MS Windows, basic server & network knowledge, general email support, Office @ Hand, Windows PC, Apple PC, iPhone, iPad, Multi-function Copy machine & Printer, web cams, UPS Battery backups, Computer Monitors
- Experience with Microsoft Products: Office, Outlook, Word, Excel
- Security mindset to approach issues and problems. - Knowledge in Basic Cyber Security is a plus.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or another related field or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience, preferred not required.
- Network+, MCSE, CCNA Certification, preferred not required.
- Microsoft Azure knowledge or certification
- Google Workspace knowledge or certification
