    National Journal, an information services company, seeks an individual with prodigious intellect, entrepreneurial spirit, and an attraction to the need of deep analysis to join our organization as an Analyst, working on launching new research and information services products. This individual will report to the President of National Journal and work to surface key challenges and opportunities facing markets of interest for the organization.

    Analysts assume an integral role in conducting market research that will support National Journal’s product development agenda.  Analysts will play a key role in building, developing, and executing National Journal’s top product priorities.

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Conduct primary research through phone interviews that tests current National Journal product ideas with lobbying professionals

    • Provide excellent written and graphical summaries of key findings; perform in-depth data analysis when necessary

    • Identify and report on market feedback trends that guide product development decision making

    • Perform in depth competitive analysis to properly scope market opportunity for chosen products

    • Present product options and recommendations to National Journal’s top executives

    • Support senior executive team in finalizing new product plans and refining business cases

    QUALIFICATIONS OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

    • Undergraduate degree required

    • Record of exceptional academic achievement, and an aspiration to constantly learn and improve

    • 1-2 years of work experience preferred, but not required

    • Dedication to building equitable and inclusive products to serve and engage marginalized communities

    • Entrepreneurial spirit; Track record of building new initiatives from conception to execution

    • Strong project management and time management skills

    • Dedicated to meeting deadlines while working within fast cycle time frames

    • Creative thinking and resourcefulness in problem-solving

    • Extreme talent in distilling large amounts of information into relevant insight

    • Excellent oral and writing skills

    • Prodigious work ethic, high metabolism, and spirit of generosity

    • Primary research experience—specifically, experience working closely with original sources

    COMPENSATION:The salary range for this role is $45,000-$50,000

    REMOTE STATUS: Remote through the end of 2021 at which point this job will be based in Washington, DC
