Primary Responsibilities

The personnel in this position are tasked with care and feeding of marine mammals and safety and maintenance of property and facilities during Night Watch hours.The successful candidate will be expected to provide a minimum of one 8-hour shift per week or two 4-hour shifts per week during the night watch period (10:30pm to 6:30am). Additional weekly overnight shifts may be available as the schedule allows. The successful candidate will be able to provide relief night watch support during times of need, and as their personal schedule allows, for either 4-hour or 8-hour shifts during the night watch period of 2:30pm to 6:30am.

Essential Functions

Perform preparation of rations, and cleaning of food preparation areas, animal enclosures, and commons areas

Maintain and clean specialized equipment

Operate and maintain small watercraft

Perform feeding and administration of food supplements

Perform observation of marine mammals

Assist with basic husbandry
