    POSITION TITLE:          PAYROLL ACCOUNTANT 2

    REPORTS TO:              PAYROLL MANAGER

     

    POSITION SUMMARY:

     Position is responsible for leading payroll processing for hourly and salary payroll for all BCVS and BSFB employees. 

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

     

    • Leads payroll processing and works closely with plant payroll administrators to ensure timely and accurate processing of weekly, hourly, and bi-weekly salary payroll for all BCVS and BSFB employees
    • Facilitates training of payroll staff in payroll processing procedures and use of payroll systems
    • Corresponds with HR and third-party benefit provider regarding employee benefits.
    • Documenting and updating payroll procedures as required
    • Correspond with employees regarding payroll inquiries
    • Provide project support and subject matter expertise as needed
    • Analyzes, prepares and inputs payroll files into general ledger
    • Working with multiple payroll systems interfaces, determining and correcting processing errors as needed

     

    KNOWLEDGE:

     

    • Knowledge of accounting principles
    • Possesses advanced knowledge of payroll processes
    • Possesses a working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems

     

    EXPERIENCE:

     

    • A minimum of 4 years payroll accounting experience
    • ADP experience a plus
    • Experience operating in an SAP environment is a plus
    • Experience working in a high volume, multi-state payroll department setting

     

    SKILLS:

     

    • Possesses solid analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
    • Possesses excellent customer service and organization skills with the ability to work as a team player in a high stress environment
    • Must be capable of working independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
    • Self-starter that takes initiative in all aspects of the job
    • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers
    • Capable of performing as an effective team member
    • Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office
    • Possesses the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload

     

    EDUCATION:

    • Associate's degree required with 3 years relevant experience.  Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Business preferred.

  • Qualifications

    Master’s degree and 1-3 years of experience required.
