    SUMMARY: The Senior Director Communications & Change Management will provide a broad range of communication and change management expertise in support of Health Benefits strategic projects, initiatives, and ongoing business activities. The role requires working with internal clients to support functional and company-wide objectives through clear, informative, and timely executive and internal communications. Additionally, this leader will be responsible for supporting the delivery of strategic goals and objectives through the design, development, and implementation of change management strategies and plans that maximize employee acceptance while minimizing resistance. Specifically, to increase employee understanding of key business initiatives and drive employee engagement.

    Please note: This is a hybrid position where you will initially be working in our Lake Forest office 2 days per week and 3 days remotely until such time when we will move to our new location in Rosemont, IL.

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Designing, developing, and executing company-wide communications strategies to support Health Benefits projects, initiatives, and ongoing business communications needs including:
      • Providing communication consulting services and support to Health Benefits leaders to help drive engagement and understanding of strategies, programs, business priorities, and results.
      • Developing and managing multi-faceted communications approaches and leveraging audience appropriate communications vehicles to drive understanding.
      • Designing, developing, and leading internal communication initiatives, such as the annual United Way campaign, company and employment brand, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
    • Designing, developing, and implementing change management strategies and plans for various projects and initiatives to include:
      • Partnering with sponsors and project leads to capture the desired state of changes to people, processes, technology, and cultural impact by target group.
      • Managing changes that affect multiple target groups to ensure proper sequencing and clarity of priorities.
      • Performing/assessing stakeholder analysis to identify potential project impacts/risks.
      • Partnering with training resources to assess needs and ensure skill development content is developed by target group.
      • Identifying and anticipating organizational challenges and/or resistance; developing risk mitigation plans; escalating risks when needed.
      • Identifying all employees affected by change projects and developing targeted change management plans.
      • Managing the change management plans timelines, deliverables, and issues/risks.
    • Developing strategic approach for the design, development, and management of the Health Benefits intranet site, and managing content development, design, and placement.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 8-10 years demonstrated experience in corporate communications and/or change management on a variety of projects with varying levels of complexity.
    • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Experience with multiple, concurrent large-scale, multi-phased workplace change efforts
    • Has successfully led the design and implementation of Change Management strategies.
    • Experience in influence and relationship management at the senior executive level.
    • Strong business acumen in service businesses representing process changes and/or technology changes.
    • Possesses knowledge and experience in end-user training strategy.
    • Excellent writing and editing skills.
    • Knowledge of computer software applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, etc.).
    • Experience leading in corporate/internal communications, public relations, or marketing.
    • Experience providing communication consultation to a variety of clients, including executive leadership.
    • Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas in easy-to-understand business terms to all levels of employees, management, including senior leaders.
    • Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities with high attention to detail.
    • Possesses strong analytical skills and good listening skills, with ability to effectively coach others.
    • Change management certification preferred.
    • Master’s degree in related discipline preferred.

    The compensation range for this full-time Senior Director, Communications & Change Management position is between $99,382.00 and $172,897.00. The salary offered will vary depending on your job-related skills, education, knowledge, and experience. This role aligns with an annual incentive bonus plan.

    QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidates must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a related quantitative area of management, and be qualified to design and teach core graduate and undergraduate-level courses. Candidates should show promise in establishing a solid research and publication record. We also welcome applications from candidates with a terminal degree who have extensive professional or industry experience.
