  • Responsibilities

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Create and release models, drawings, and technical documentsrelated to various project assignments from concepts to productionreleases.
    • Perform tolerance stack-ups studies and design layouts whenrequired.
    • Perform component as well as assembly analysis on all products asneeded and incorporate results in the designs.
    • Keep track of model integrity and product release levels per thecompany established standards where applicable.

     

    ATTRIBUTES:

    • Must be willing to work well with others in a dynamic office environment.
    • Must be willing and able to handle / work on a wide range of work assignments from the smallest drawing revision or file organization tothe most in-depth 3D product development.
    • Must be proficient in ProE and Pro-Intralink with experience infile translations (FTP, IGES, STEP, STL, DXF, etc…)
    • Knowledge of the product development process from concept toproduction.
    • Strong GD&T background.
    • Must be a strong team player willing to perform non-designer tasks such as dealing with the customer, working with their hands inproduct break downs and vehicle retrofits, work with testing technicians helping to set up or break down tests, and go on an occasion customer field exercise.
    • The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, organized, and havethe ability to efficiently and effectively communicate thoughts andideas to team members in a professional manor.
    • Needs to have knowledge of various manufacturing techniques suchas grey iron castings, aluminum castings, and machining (with datums).

     

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum of 5 years experience of current ProE and Pro-Intralink experience.
    • Minimum of 10 years experience in a New Product Developmentdesign environment.
    • Bachelor and/or associate degree preferred.
    • 6-Sigma knowledge is a plus.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Must be a self motivator with a high degree of integrity forhis/her own work.
    • Vehicle braking system, axle, and suspension knowledge• Microsoft office skills are necessary to perform daily work assignments.
    • Familiarity with ISO, QS, TS requirements
    • Knowledge of DFMEA and DVPR processes
    • Knowledge of GD&T

    What You'll Have: 5-8 years of experience in the field of content strategy, or a B.A./B.S. degree in a relevant field preferred. Strong search engine optimization (SEO) skills are required, and search engine marketing (SEM) skills are preferred. Excellent attention to detail. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once. Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to work collegially on projects. Maturity, flexibility, and ability to work effectively under deadline pressure. Proactive problem-solving skills. Good presentation skills. Superior oral and written communication skills are essential to discuss project decisions with clients as well as process and content organization. Ability to work tactfully and collaboratively with clients from throughout the University, from the Presidents office to academic departments to the University's service areas. Understanding of website design projects with a focus on user experience needs. Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in site builds, design projects, software development, and web technologies.
