  • Responsibilities

    Brain Plasticity and Neuroimaging Laboratory (Director, Karin Schon, Ph.D.) in the Department of Anatomy & Neurobiology at the Boston University School of Medicine invites highly motivated applicants interested in a full-time Recruitment and Outreach Study Coordinator position beginning September 2021. The primary responsibilities of the position include outreach, recruiting, screening and scheduling participants for a research project on the impact of stress due to experiences of racial discrimination on cognition and brain function in older adults, database management, and administrative duties (e.g. IRB protocol management, day-to-day lab operations).

     

    Additional responsibilities may include administering neuropsychological assessments, sensor-based physical activity assessments, data collection and analysis (functional and structural MRI, behavioral data, etc.), and tracking study progress. Exceptional Study Coordinators may have the opportunity to present data at conferences and/or co-author publications. Successful candidates will have experience as community organizers, recruitment into clinical trials, and/or experience working with communities underserved by research in the Boston area. 

    Required Skills

    A bachelors degree in neuroscience/neurobiology, psychology, biomedical sciences or a related field and at least one year of relevant experience beyond an undergraduate research are desirable but not required. The job requires the ability to work efficiently and comfortably in a multidisciplinary team environment; exceptional organizational and problem solving skills; attention to detail; excellent written and verbal communication; and a strong work ethic. Individuals with an interest in and research experience related to the neurobiology of memory, psychosocial stress, aging and/or brain plasticity are particularly encouraged to apply. This position requires a commitment of one year.

     

    BS and 1-3 years experience.
