SUMMARY
Our client, a leading packaging distributor specializing in packaging materials, packaging equipment, and contract packaging services, is seeking a high-impact National Account Executive to drive strategic growth with existing enterprise customers. This remote position, based in Texas, offers a unique opportunity to leverage established relationships with major Fortune 500 manufacturers and national accounts, expanding those relationships across multiple divisions, facilities, and geographic regions to secure enterprise-wide national account agreements.
This role is ideal for a consultative sales professional with a proven track record of penetrating large organizations, uncovering new opportunities within existing accounts, and closing complex, multi-site agreements. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute strategic account plans focused on expanding existing relationships with Fortune 1000 and national manufacturing customers.
- Penetrate assigned accounts by identifying opportunities across multiple plants, divisions, business units, and geographic regions.
- Convert regional and local relationships into enterprise-wide national accounts through a consultative and value-driven sales approach.
- Build executive-level relationships with key decision-makers in procurement, operations, engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing leadership.
- Sell a broad portfolio of packaging materials, packaging equipment, and contract packaging services.
- Identify opportunities to reduce customers' total cost of ownership and improve operational efficiencies through customized packaging solutions.
- Drive revenue growth by cross-selling and introducing additional products and services into existing accounts.
- Lead the complete sales cycle from opportunity identification through implementation and long-term account development.
- Collaborate with internal operations, engineering, and supplier partners to develop innovative customer solutions.
- Conduct virtual meetings and occasional travel to customer locations throughout the United States.
- Manage complex projects and coordinate resources necessary to support national account growth initiatives.
- Maintain a robust sales pipeline and consistently achieve revenue and profitability objectives.
- Demonstrate strong presentation, negotiation, and executive communication skills.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging packaging technologies.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 5+ years of successful packaging sales experience with a strong emphasis on strategic account development and national account management.
- Proven ability to expand existing relationships within large organizations and close enterprise-level agreements.
- Experience selling packaging materials, packaging equipment, and/or contract packaging services.
- Demonstrated success working with large manufacturing customers and multi-site organizations.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to engage executive leadership and procurement teams.
- Exceptional consultative selling, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
- Highly motivated, self-directed professional with a hunter mentality and a passion for growing strategic accounts.
